Having so many exemptions... is a problem

This is a copy and paste email content from a recruitment officer after I asked her why was I rejected from an actuarial position.

Azrul

You have been rejected from these roles because you have studied Actuarial Science. The companies in question prefer pure mathematical degrees and do not look favourably on exemptions, they expect candidates to actually sit the exams.

Any queries please do not hesitate to contact me

I don't know about actuarial jobs, but those with graduate degrees in mathematics and physics are highly demanded in investment, especially in areas such as quantitative analysis, derivatives and structuring.

well, actuarial education does cover investement, quantitative analysis, derivatives and structuring.

there are actuaries in investment companies everywhere in the world.

but the job offered is actuarial. thats why i do not understand why I was rejected simply because i have exemptions.
