Je ne suis pas marie

If my maths was still at its peak, I calculated around 13 of my friends who will be getting married this year! That's quite a large number considering how young we still are and that figure only counts for friends from KMYS and KYS only. I am set to miss almost all of them depending on when will I actually return to sayang-sayang Malaysia.

Last weekend if I'm not mistaken was my friend Mona Zarita's wedding. Congrats Mon! You will have the President's and my blessings. It seems like yesterday we were close friends back in KMYS and now you are married! Next year you will have your first child insya-Allah. She told me of the date when I was back home for the summer last year and I guess time went by so quickly!

Another good friend of mine Farid Izmeer is also getting married in February. I am not sure about the date but his funny email invitation was actually expected. I am so very sorry that I couldn't be there bro but I am sure the wedding will go just fine for you. Post-marriage I hope we can still joke around and play some football as you will be hers and she will be yours in just a few weeks away. I also heard that former Razakians and dormmates Hazman Hilmi (with long-time partner Petty Diana Rahim) and Fahmy Zakaria tied the knot quite recently.

Yana from UiTM also got the green light with someone who has the same namesake Azrul.

Next will be Pakyat (with former classmate Hazrina Azalan) and then Shahida Mansor and then Najib Mohamed and then Hana Radzi (Adik) and then (maybe) Nadia Hanna and then Irfan Hashim and then Haniz Nazlan (with Ariefah) and then if according to plan, the astronaut guy!

There could be more but I dare not say here as nothing is confirmed just yet (hehe you know I am refering this to you two :))

It's a mixed feelings for me actually. Sad, happy, shocked, confused.

Sad because I couldnt attend those weddings. Sad because it is sort of like a farewell to them as they will head for a new chapter in their lives being married.

Happy for them of course as tying the knot is something very special to them.

Shocked because some weddings came out of nowhere especially of Mat Pah's.

Confused because it sorta influenced me in a way to decide on certain things. And you know how sometimes I can be easily influenced.

After marriage, the babies will come. Congratulations to my brother Mohd Azua whose wife recently gave birth to a healthy 2.95kgs baby boy named Mohd Amsyar. Welcome to the world, Boy Jr. Pak Teh will shower you with gifts, love and happiness when I get back.

Lots of kisses too!

I'm still waiting for Amsyar's pics and I can't wait to see the combination of Kak Nani and Abang Boy it's very intriguing really. Will he have the fair Apek skin of his dad? And the cute dimple of his mom? Guess I have to wait to find out.

I missed the day your wedding was solemnised and I missed the day Amsyar was born.

What else will I miss next?

Sacrifices can be painful sometimes.

I am planning to visit Azlan's and Shuhada's newborn baby cutey Batrisyia on the 26th of March. I hope to meet other Irish students like Rye, Celop and wife, Jazree, Aien and others. Lets hope that the courseworks and tests will be done by that time.

Ah well. Time for my long awaited how food becomes poop thoughts and what the hell is that smell???

Lets Talk About Football Again

I know I know it's been a record low for this blog. I kept writing and stopping at the beginning of each blog entry and saying "damn, I'm so lazy even to write anything! I will be damned if I still have to write up another dissertation this year! (hopefully to be given the choice to take electives instead).

The 5-a-side league has just started last week on Friday. Yeah yeah I said it before that it would not be 'fun' if football is to be mingled with dirty politics. However, after consulting with some friends, I decided to just play and have fun at a discount as they suggested. Anyone wants to join our team? We need a goalkeeper (as usual).

I seriously need to find my scoring touch again. After bagging 5 goals with the Westminster people in a football outing debut in Regents Park, call me Benjani but I have not scored since, plus some missed chances in front of goals. I was so disappointed with myself and again, like Benjani, would love to see the goals coming again to boost some confidence level atleast.

Since when I was this Pompey fan? Now lets talk about Theo.

"Theo... Theo.. Theo.."

He was signed by Arsenal about two years ago with a promise to bring English football to another level as you know their current level is FOC when they failed to qualify for the Euro (grin). I was pretty excited myself that we signed him under the noses of Chelsea and Liverpool (or maybe Man Utd) for this bright young prospect.

Now, I think he is not up to the standard that we all hoped. Even Wenger thought so recently. However, I knew it since I first saw him play.

It is sad that for a professional footballer,

1. He can't dribble or he is too afraid to dribble past the defenders.
2. He is quick but doesn't use it well enough.
3. He doesn't make intelligent runs for someone who wants to be a striker.
4. He is light-weighted (of course heavier than me but I'm no professional, si?)
5. He is unable to handle pressure. He gets intimidated too quickly.

Some friends of mine argued that he should be given more time. I beg to differ because he was given chances and failed to make an impact this season. Remember Rooney? He was 17 and that goal with his curling shot that rounded Jens Lehmaan earned him a mega-deal with Man Utd and has been playing like a 'veteran' now!

Aaron Lennon, who plays at at right flank where Walcott occasionally play nowadays will not beat Theo in a 100m sprint. But he sure is fast and with his dribbling skills and courage to dribble past defenders made him a powerful asset to our arch-rival Tottenham. I first saw him play in an England Under-21 game when I saw how a bright talent he was terrorising the oppositions on the flanks.

He is still playing brightly at the moment.

So why Walcott didn't make it like we expected him to be? Well the answer is quite simple.

Theo was never a great great player. He is overrated. Just because he can beat Titi with his pace doen't mean he can frighten the EPL giant defenders such as Laursen and Ferdinand. Not even Bramble I think. He needs to improve his game at many levels or risk joining a smaller club to be a Michael Chopra or James Beattie.

Well, hopefully what I said earlier in this entry is wrong.

Just like what I wrote about how Arsenal will falter this year without Titi.

Saga is back. So am I.

I am pretty excited about the prospect of looking at the new Saga with my own eyes. I really think it looks good on the internet especially on Paultan.org. But I was more amazed with the new concept Red for this line.

Recalling the old Saga, I'm darn sure we have improved in many areas. I expect the sales volume for the new Saga will be something to be proud of. With the market plummeting however, demand for cars will fall and I will not rule out the possibility of a roller coaster ride in the sales trend.

Everybody's Changing - Keane

You say you wander your own land
But when I think about it
I don't see how you can

You're aching, you're breaking
And I can see the pain in your eyes
Since everybody's changing
And I don't know why.

So little time
Try to understand that I'm
Trying to make a move just to stay in the game
I try to stay awake and remember my name
But everybody's changing
And I don't feel the same.

You're gone from here
Soon you will disappear
Fading into beautiful light
'cause everybody's changing
And I don't feel right.

So little time
Try to understand that I'm
Trying to make a move just to stay in the game
I try to stay awake and remember my name
But everybody's changing
And I don't feel the same.

So little time
Try to understand that I'm
Trying to make a move just to stay in the game
I try to stay awake and remember my name
But everybody's changing
And I don't feel the same.

Ooo...
Everybody's changing
And I don't feel the same.
