PAS Khianat Amanah Allah

Presiden Amerika Syarikat, Barack Hussein Obama II pernah berkata “There is no short-cut to peace” (tidak ada jalan pintas untuk keamanan) apabila Pertubuhan Bangsa-bangsa Bersatu (PBB) menganjurkan kenaikan taraf Palestin sebagai ahli pertubuhan itu. Kenaikan ini sekaligus akan menyebabkan Palestin diterima dunia sebagai sebuah negara yang berdaulat dan ini ditentang hebat oleh Israel dan kuncunya Amerika Syarikat.

Tanggal 17 Ogos 2014. Sebenarnya hari itu adalah hari yang pahit buat Malaysia. Sama ada rakyat mahu sedar atau tidak, terpulanglah kepada mereka. Bagi saya, tarikh ini sangat menduka-citakan sehingga air mata jantan ini menitis mengenangkan perbuatan segelintir pemimpin. Sudahlah Dato’ Menteri Besar Selangor dikhianati dan dizalimi, PAS yang kononnya  menegakkan keadilan dan kebenaran atas nama Islam telah gagal dalam ujian integriti yang Allah SWT telah berikan.

Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim kini seorang diri dalam menegakkan yang benar tentang dirinya. Alim ulama berjanggut, bermisai, berserban yang sebelumnya mempertahankan beliau telah berubah fikiran dalam masa yang singkat. Hanya kerana Khalid tidak lagi bersama Pakatan Rakyat. Eh, tidak tahu lagikah? Khalid dibuang parti secara tidak adil kerana tidak diberi peluang memperjelaskan apa-apa pun. Bukannya dia sendiri yang mahu tinggalkan Pakatan Rakyat.

Saya yang beribu batu jauhnya pun boleh merasakan betapa ruginya PAS setelah menolak peluang untuk bersatu demi Islam dan Malaysia. Mungkin ada yang kata saya ini isti’jal (tergesa-gesa) dalam mahukan keamanan negara melalui kesatuan ummah. Ingat, Obama berkata “there is no short-cut to peace”. Perkara pertama yang terlintas di fikiran saya apabila disuruh jangan isti’jal adalah kata-kata Barack Obama yang zalim terhadap rakyat Palestin ini. Bagi saya, “Peace should be made as a priority and there is ALWAYS a short-cut to peace” (Keamanan itu adalah utama dan jalan pintas SENTIASA ada untuk keamanan).

Jadi, apa kena-mengena keputusan PAS dengan keamanan Malaysia yang saya mahukan? Tidak tahulah bagi anda tetapi tidak jemukah soal-soal agama dan perkauman dijadikan alat bagi memecah-belahkan rakyat Malaysia? Tidak pernah-pernah sebelum ini laungan azan masjid dipersoalkan, lembu dijadikan sembelih korban boleh menjadi kontroversi, kalimah “Allah” dipolitikkan, masjid, gereja, kuil Hindu dan Buddha dibakar, kepala lembu dijaja bagi mencabar rakan-rakan beragama Hindu, Ramadhan dipelawa dengan bak kut teh, pemimpin menyokong umat Islam diberikan kebebasan murtad, yang berbangsa India dipanggil “Peria”, yang Cina dipanggil babi, yang Melayu dipanggil orang hutan, agama Kristian dipermain-mainkan,  kitab bible dijadikan wadah politik, fatwa tentang perkara yang jelas berbeda-beda dan lain-lain lagi. Saya ini tidaklah begitu tua tetapi sepengetahuan saya, perkara-perkara ini telah menjadi-jadi apabila rakyat Malaysia tidak bersatu sejak tahun 2008.

Sebelum ini saya ada menulis tentang pentingnya umat Islam bersatu supaya rakyat Malaysia bersatu dan peluang besar ini gagal digenggam oleh PAS. Katanya UMNO itu jahat (PKR tidak jahat), UMNO itu kafir (DAP tidak kafir), UMNO itu korup (PKR, DAP tidak korup), UMNO itu mengamalkan kronisme dan nepotisme (PKR, DAP tidak). Ketua Umum PKR mahukan isterinya jadi Menteri Besar Boneka Selangor dan sanggup menikam sahabatnya yang saya sendiri akui sebagai menteri besar yang terbaik Selangor pernah ada. Apa lagi yang tidak jelasnya? Khilaf juga?

Saya tidak setuju dengan kenyataan beberapa pemimpin yang berbaur perkauman. Umat Islam bersatu tidak bermakna yang bukan Islam akan dihina, dicerca, dihukum, dianak-tirikan sampai tidak boleh “angkat muka”. Islam mengikut sejarah yang ada tidak pernah melakukan diskriminasi berdasarkan agama dan kaum. Yang dicanang oleh penulis Barat tentang kezaliman negara Islam berkenaan Jizya (cukai kepada yang bukan Islam) tidak menyebut tentang adanya Zakat (cukai untuk yang beragama Islam). Nabi Muhammad mengharamkan riba’ kepada penduduk Yahudi dalam negara Islamnya bukan bermaksud diskriminasi. Agama mereka sendiri mengharamkan riba’! Lagipun riba’, arak, judi, zina dan liwat adalah perkara-perkara yang tidak baik pun untuk masyarakat. Sekiranya dalam kehidupan saya, umat Islam Malaysia bersatu tetapi berlaku tidak adil terhadap yang bukan Islam, saya sendiri yang jelik dengan menunjuk perasaan ,akan berguling-guling di atas jalan raya membangkang!

Berfikirlah sejenak. Tidak ada agama yang zalim dan Islam sebenarnya adalah agama yang reformis. Daripada masyarakat yang jahil, membunuh anak-anak perempuan, menghina kaum wanita, berzina, berjudi dengan anak panah… Islam hadir tepat pada waktunya dan merubah kehidupan masyarakat Arab ketika itu dan kini seluruh dunia.

Apa lagi yang pemimpin PAS tunggu, entah lah. Katanya drama Selangor belum tamat lagi. Boleh pula mencadangkan pemimpin politikus yang tidak disenangi rakyat Selangor sebagai pelan B. Katanya Khalid terpaksa pergi demi kestabilan Selangor. Padahal yang mengkucar-kacirkan Selangor adalah PKR. Katanya tidak perlu tergesa-gesa dalam menegakkan kebenaran dan selesaikan krisis Selangor. Padahal tahu Sultan tidak mahukan Wan Azizah sebagai khalifah Selangor. Padahal jika PAS bersama yang benar, Selangor dan Malaysia dengan izin Allah akan stabil, makmur dan harmoni.

Asalkan jika niat berkerja demi rakyat. Bukan demi politik.

Riba' dalam Islam dan produk kewangan masakini

Saya tertarik dengan tweet yang dibaca di 'timeline' saya baru-baru ini apabila seorang saudara Islam dari Malaysia menegaskan bahawa Amanah Saham Bumiputra itu haram, dengan tweetnya semuanya berhuruf besar. Saya bersyukur rakyat Malaysia masih mahu menjaga halal dan haram walaupun beberapa 'public figure' seperti artis "diva pujaan" mahupun pemimpin "agung anugerah Tuhan" tidak memberi contoh yang baik kepada masyarakat. Soal makanan khususnya sangatlah dititik-berat oleh masyarakat Muslim Malaysia di mana pihak restoran disarankan meletakkan sijil halal bagi meyakinkan mereka ini, sehinggakan air mineral dan ubat gigi juga disuruh letak logo halal.

 

Sebelum kita berbincang, mari kita lihat dalil-dalil pengharaman riba' oleh Allah S.W.T. kerana itulah sebaik-baiknya:

 

"dan disebabkan mereka memakan riba, padahal sesungguhnya mereka telah dilarang daripadanya, dan kerana mereka memakan harta benda orang dengan jalan yang batil. Kami telah menyediakan untuk orang-orang yang kafir di antara mereka itu siksa yang pedih." - An-Nisa' 161

 

"Orang-orang yang makan (mengambil) riba tidak dapat berdiri melainkan seperti berdirinya orang yang kerasukan syaitan. Keadaan mereka yang demikian itu, adalah disebabkan mereka berkata (berpendapat), sesungguhnya jual beli itu sama dengan riba, padahal Allah telah menghalalkan jual beli dan mengharamkan riba. Orang-orang yang telah sampai kepadanya larangan dari Tuhannya, lalu terus berhenti (dari mengambil riba), maka baginya apa yang telah diambilnya dahulu (sebelum datang larangan); dan urusannya (terserah) kepada Allah. Orang yang kembali (mengambil riba), maka orang itu adalah penghuni-penghuni neraka; mereka kekal di dalamnya" - Al-Baqarah 275

 

"Allah susutkan (kebaikan harta yang dijalankan dengan mengambil) riba dan Ia pula mengembangkan (berkat harta yang dikeluarkan) sedekah-sedekah dan zakatnya. Dan Allah tidak suka kepada tiap-tiap orang yang kekal terus dalam kekufuran, dan selalu melakukan dosa. Sesungguhnya orang-orang yang beriman dan beramal soleh, dan mengerjakan sembahyang serta memberikan zakat, mereka beroleh pahala di sisi Tuhan mereka, dan tidak ada kebimbangan (dari berlakunya sesuatu yang tidak baik) terhadap mereka, dan mereka pula tidak akan berdukacita. Wahai orang-orang yang beriman! Bertaqwalah kamu kepada Allah dan tinggalkanlah (jangan menuntut lagi) saki baki riba (yang masih ada pada orang yang berhutang) itu, jika benar kamu orang- orang yang beriman. Oleh itu, kalau kamu tidak juga melakukan (perintah mengenai larangan riba itu), maka ketahuilah kamu: akan adanya peperangan dari Allah dan RasulNya, (akibatnya kamu tidak menemui selamat). Dan jika kamu bertaubat, maka hak kamu (yang sebenarnya) ialah pokok asal harta kamu. (Dengan yang demikian) kamu tidak berlaku zalim kepada sesiapa, dan kamu juga tidak dizalimi oleh sesiapa. Dan jika orang yang berhutang itu sedang mengalami kesempitan hidup, maka berilah tempoh sehingga ia lapang hidupnya dan (sebaliknya) bahawa kamu sedekahkan hutang itu (kepadanya) adalah lebih baik untuk kamu, kalau kamu mengetahui (pahalanya yang besar yang kamu akan dapati kelak)." - Al-Baqarah 276-280

 

"Wahai orang-orang yang beriman! Janganlah kamu makan atau mengambil riba dua atau berlipat-lipat ganda, dan hendaklah kamu bertaqwa kepada Allah supaya kamu berjaya." - A-li'Imraan 130

 

Jelasnya di sini Allah S.W.T. telah mengajar kita di dalam Al-Quran yang riba' itu sememangnya haram. Allah juga telah mengajar kita definisi riba' iaitu menggandakan nilai pokok sebanyak dua kali ganda atau lebih demi keuntungan pemiutang (pemberi hutang). Allah juga menyarankan yang jika penghutang itu dalam keadaaan susah, hendaklah memberikan masa kepadanya untuk melangsaikan hutang tersebut. Jika penghutang sememangnya tidak mampu membayar hutang tersebut, hendaklah melupuskan hutang tersebut dengan niat kerana bersedekah kerana Allah.

 

Sekarang, berbalik pula kepada persoalan jika unit Amanah Saham Bumiputera itu haram kerana percampuran dengan kaunter-kaunter saham yang di luar dari syarak. Sekiranya kaunter saham tersebut merangkumi jual-beli barangan haram seperti alkohol, jelas sekali penggunaan unit saham itu adalah makruh berdasarkan beberapa hadith kerana unit itu kini menjadi "harta syubahat".

 

Namun begitu adalah lebih selamat jika harta syubahat (yang ragu-ragu) itu dielakkan. Dari konteks ASB pula, yang diragui adalah perniagaan perbankan yang menjadi aset utama dalam tabung amanah tersebut. (Malayan Banking Berhad 23.23% - 31/12/2012)

 

Saya berpeluang untuk mendapatkan bantuan pinjaman perumahan daripada Maybank Islamic untuk membeli sebuah rumah di Shah Alam. Jika saya, (aku berlindung dengan-Mu ya Allah daripada musibah ini) mengalami sesuatu kesusahan dan terpaksa lewat membayar hutang tersebut, saya akan dikenakan denda sebanyak beberapa peratus daripada nilai baki akaun pinjaman. Ini juga bertentangan dengan dalil di atas dalam ayat Surah Al-Baqarah ayat 280. Sepatutnya, diberi peluang kepada peminjam beberapa waktu untuk melangsaikan hutang tersebut.

Mari kita lihat satu ilustrasi pinjaman perumahan di mana interest/profit rate adalah 4.2%, "daily-compounded", selama 30 tahun dan nilai pokok RM500,000. Jika dikira, nilai bayaran setiap bulan adalah RM2,446. Jumlah bayaran keseluruhan termasuk interest setelah 30 tahun adalah = 2446 x 12 x 30 = RM 880,560. Jumlah ini tidak melebihi dua kali ganda daripada nilai pokok (1.76112 kali ganda). Pengiraan ini tidak termasuk inflasi di mana nilai RM 880,560 kini tidak sama dengan RM 880,560 akan datang. (Insya Allah akan dikongsikan pendapat tentang inflasi dalam artikel yang akan datang). Pada hemat saya, pinjaman wang ini adalah halal dan dipersetujui kedua-dua pihak asalkan denda seperti di atas tidak dikenakan.

Jika kita lihat pula suatu ilustrasi pinjaman perseorangan (personal loan) dan saya akan berikan contoh yang sebenar-benarnya berlaku. Seorang hamba Allah ini mahu memulakan perniagaan MLM "bantal/tilam ajaib cahaya Dhuha" dan mahu mendapatkan pinjaman perseorangan sebanyak RM 3,000 sebagai modal. Beliau telah dipujuk oleh "upline"-nya untuk mengambil pinjaman ini dan setelah berjumpa dengan agen pemberi hutang dari syarikat AEON, beliau dikenakan bayaran sebanyak RM 128 selama 5 tahun. Ringkasnya, jumlah perlu dibayar selepas 5 tahun adalah RM 7,680 iaitu 2.56 kali ganda daripada nilai pokok. Pinjaman wang ini jelasnya adalah haram kerana melebih dua kali ganda. Jika diamati daripada website AEON, www.aeonmalaysia.com.my, bagi jumlah pinjaman yang sama, "installment table" jelas menunjukkan bagi "New Customer" dia cuma perlu bayar selama 3 tahun sahaja, bukan 5 tahun. Jika ini yg diikuti, jumlah bayaran setelah 3 tahun adalah 1.536 kali ganda sahaja, kurang daripada 2 kali ganda yang dibenarkan oleh syarak. Jadi, sama ada peminjam ini ditipu oleh agen AEON atau "upline"nya wallahualam. Namun bagi saya, saya takkan ambil pinjaman seperti ini. Terlalu mahal dan tidak menjamin keuntungan hatta bayaran balik pinjaman!

Ringkasnya, sistem pinjaman wang di Malaysia sama ada "Islamic" atau konvensional masih lagi mempunyai ruang untuk diperbaiki walaupun ia semakin dekat ke arah "Pure Islamic Finance"/"Ethical Finance". Hal ini telah dibincangkan oleh saya di artikel ini. Jadikanlah Al-Quraan sebagai pegangan setiap insan kerana soal riba' telahpun diajar oleh Islam secara jelas dan telus kepada manusia sekaligus menjawab persoalan halal haram dalam produk kewangan masakini.

Letter to Najib (post GE13) - How to save Malaysia

This letter was sent to Najib through his 1Malaysia email: info@1malaysia.com.my right after the GE13. I am pretty sure he did not read it, based on what we are seeing right now in Malaysia.

Dear beloved Prime Minister of Malaysia,

 

Congratulations for winning the hard fought 13th General Election. I am surprised you seemed shocked at the results but for me, Barisan Nasional has always been the underdogs since the 2008 political tsunami. As many so-called democrats asking for a two-party system, the result has shown Malaysia has become a two-race system. As you put it, "Chinese Tsunami" has hit Malaysia. As a Malaysian, this is particularly distressing.

 

Clearly your 1Malaysia programme has failed. I have heard so many Non-Bumis calling 1Malaysia is just a saying, a tagline, a publicity stunt. In reality, especially the Chinese, they have kept thinking current affirmative actions have been marginalising them. That being said, I still see the Chinese controlling the Malaysian economy.

 

Your tireless efforts to please the Chinese had backfired. They were commendable efforts but in reality, racial sentiments still win. Well-organised and hiding behind "fight against corruption, cronyism and nepotism", attacking Bumiputera institutions (MARA, GLCs, UiTM, RELA, UMNO, PERKASA) are clearly apparent especially by the DAP. This is actually a veiled attack against the Bumiputras and Malaysia's affirmative actions.

 

You are actually facing the same problem your late father Tun Abdul Razak had faced in 1969. DAP/Gerakan made a mistake by taking it to the streets for the victory lap. Victory for only the Chinese seats of course. Riding on a liberal Malay Syed Hussen Al-Attas, they have gained racial victories in Chinese concentrated areas. The incident ensued, as we know it, had become the darkest part of our history. But the DAP had learned from this mistake. No rally was done today, and there wouldn't be. Instead, DAP will play down their victory saying its due to the backing of the Malays or the urbanites. Smart? I am only 30 but to me this is somewhat predictable for the DAP lot. 

 

Now, what would be your next step for national unity? I am very surprised people in Malaysia claimed that we have two Malaysias. This has been going on since decades. It became more and more apparent when Barisan Nasional keep on building and supporting Chinese vernacular schools to please the Chinese. This is actually a fatal mistake. There should be only one, national school in this country. I know their rights of having vernacular schools but this has to be done away at some point in the future.

 

Clearly, some things have got to go.

 

You actually have a choice, for the sake of your political survival. The first green pill is that you can persuade PAS to join Barisan, offering them the DPM post, electing them to be heading the anti-corruption initiative, allow for the participation of ulamas in Islamic matters (not merely shouting the word Hudud of course) and others you can think about. Yes they are wounded after this GE (particularly because of how the Malays are divided) but you cannot ignore the power of their grassroots supporters. Nik Aziz has since retired from politics because of ill-health (insya Allah khair). This should provide a good opportunity to talk to the President Hadi Awang and see if we can finally unite the Muslims. "Bersatu teguh, bercerai roboh." That doesn't mean the Chinese should be punished for betraying your, Ghani Othman's and Ali Rustam's support. As soon as they realise the Malays are stronger again, believe me, you will not see another Chinese Tsunami come the next GE because I don't think they are foolish enough to think they can win alone. The Chinese is controlling the economy, they too know political stability is important. As long as Malaysia keeps developing, and realising they won't be able to win power all by themselves, I believe Malaysia will be in good hands of Barisan. 

 

Or take the red pill so you can persuade DAP to join Barisan (you can try but it was done before when Gerakan joins Perikatan. Look at Gerakan now). Then keep supporting Dong Zhong to build Chinese schools (and get betrayed again). Feed them with some mammoth dinners or holding concerts performed by Chinese-looking Koreans (and keep getting fooled). Some even booed you on stage, being disrespectful. Really, stop being in denial that we all live in harmony, kissing and hugging each other. The issue of polarisation in Malaysia has always been there. You only made it worse when more and more Chinese schools are being built using tax-payers money.

 

So how to save Malaysia? You take the green pill mentioned above. Yes, the Chinese will be angry (they are still sore for not winning at federal level). But you forgot that it is actually the Malays who you really have to take care of. We have realised how you have spent so much for the Chinese recently. If you choose the second pill, more Malays will go and support the immoral Anwar. And Anwar, as you are aware, is like a chameleon. He can suddenly change and say he will protect the rights of the Malays and then take you out taking PKR, PAS and disgruntled UMNO with him. You could start smoothen the deal with the Chinese like abolishing the Bumi discount for properties above 800k, because obviously, whoever could afford an 800k property, surely they do not need government's help to buy a property. At the same time, Bumi quota should stay but instead of letting the developers to announce how much is the %, make a strict directive to them to only mention how many units are actually available to the public (when comes to balloting). I was there at the Bandar Rimbayu balloting. I was hurled of racial abuses as if I don't understand Hokkien swearing by many because my friend was wearing the tudung. You might not notice this because only a normal citizen like us would experience this. Also, instead of not allowing the Bumis to sell their properties to Non-Bumis, allow us to sell it only after 5 years (and hopefully the Malays are already better off economically). Then, if PAS agrees, welcome them to Barisan in a form of a coalition government, not to be placed under the Barisan umbrella. They will apply themselves once you have shown how you have good intentions in making Malaysia a better nation. Let Anwar fight BN-PAS and see if he can really win. He will eventually give up, the Chinese will desert DAP, realising they cannot win (evidently PRU13, despite the Chinese super racial swing).

 

Education - this has to be done in stages. Enough is enough. I was 11 years old when I joined the national school SRK SFI Melaka. I was one of the only two Malays in class. The school is not a Chinese school but the level of education at that time (1994-1995) was superb. I guess that's why the Chinese stick to SFI. Although it was dominated by Chinese, we learned to respect each other. Never that I have encountered a racial slur except once from a classmate (he now becomes an anti-Malay-Islam racist Chinese). But I will never forget this part of my life. I taught them BM and they taught me English in return. I believe at that time, the Chinese love Barisan. Tun M was saved by the Chinese in 1999 election. So what have they become now? It is not coincidence that since Barisan started wasting hundreds of millions to build Chinese school, the more the Chinese have distant themselves from Barisan.

 

Corruption - to convince the public, if PAS (or DAP) agrees to setup a coalition government, they should be heading this initiative (not beheading it). Let them do this. Anyone in Barisan who is corrupt, they can stop doing it now as we speak. How many millions in the bank account would satisfy a person? I will not go into individuals but stop using Rakyat's money like your own money. Live a humble life, build the nation. Life is short to be just enjoying the worldly heaven. I really think it is more satisfying to have your name as the Father of the Modern Malaysia where everyone respects you. All I hear in this Middle East country is Mahathir Mohammad. He himself has also failed to make the Malays better. Without corruption, there's no more bullets for the Opposition to attack Barisan. There is simply no reason to hate Barisan. With no corruption, people don't care if the foreign cars are expensive or the national cars are so lousy (especially the power windows). This will bring a certain pride inside every Malaysian. That our country has the lowest corruption index in the region, if not the world. Without corruption, Malaysia will flourish.

 

Fighting crimes - the stats might say otherwise, but crimes are rampant in Malaysia. I am living in Saudi Arabia and I feel safe here. Hudud is implemented here. Now, since that I have suggested that you personally approach PAS to co-operate with Barisan, I don't think they are foolish enough to declare they will go all out for hudud. Hudud is not even in Buku Jingga, and hudud is only a tool to convince the grassroots supporters that they are all for Islam. In this case, PAS can simply assure their supporters under the new BN-PAS coalition, hudud is actually being implemented in a way of making the punishment for crimes more severe. 10 years for rape? That is like 10 years holiday for these horrible perverts! As hudud is such a taboo in this modern world, Allah has not make it obligatory to call his commands according to the Arabic name Hudud. But really, people get away for statutory rape? Are you kidding me with our judiciary system? Punishment for serial offenders has to be harsh. With harsh punishments, people won't be too brave to commit street crimes for example. I am sure there must be a motivating factor for these guys to repeat the crime. Don't tell me the police force are really nice people nowadays, letting them go after being locked up for a day?

 

Finally, combating malicious accusations/slanders (FYI your wife has not been spared). Barisan should have one dedicated website to quickly answer to all the accusations made by viral social networking posts, videos and whatever that was accused by the Opposition. The people of Malaysia will then just have to look for one website to find the answers. This website of course, will be contributed by the intel that you have (not slandering bloggers). It must be based on the truth. Facts must all be checked before releasing to the public. PDRM can always play a role although not directly but information can be checked. For example, the Opposition has accused the Government of bringing in Banglas. Very catchy Anwar tactic as if he wouldn't do if he comes to power. He could even bring in China dolls as phantom voters since the Chinese is so siding with him now (okay this is not the idea for BN to adapt, we DON'T have CHINESE votes currently). But of course, Barisan leaders must shape up and repent. Old ways have to be forgotten. I really think the most satisfying thing in life is not to have billions of dollars. But is to actually change the life of the masses for better. Bill Gates get this!

 

I hope you are able to read my spontaneous thoughts on what it should be done to make Malaysia better. It's not much but some points, I have been rooting for it for quite some time. To sum it up:

 

-National unity comes from Malay/Muslim unity. 

-1School for the Real 1Malaysia.

-Fight corruption like fighting for your life.

-Eradicate crimes by harsher punishments.

-Countering slanders at a click of a button.

Snippets: How I would solve current Malaysian issues if I were PM

On Kalimah "Allah" issue...
Christians in Malaysia who are actually using the BM version of the bible (Sabah and Sarawak) would be encouraged to use the Malaysian version, not the Indonesian version of the bible. "Allah" shall never appear in these bibles because the more appropriate one to be used is "Tuhan", so to protect Christianity itself and the sensitivity of the Muslims who refer their one and only God, who do not bear a son nor that He has a father, as Allah.

On rising prices...
Controlled goods are controlled goods. If suppliers/retailers increase the prices of controlled goods above the maximum allowed, they will be punished heavily and jailed as well. It is also a high time for Malaysians to reap higher salaries especially in the Multinational companies. Minimum wage can be introduced and also set a clear salary benchmark for the public to see for each general occupations. Companies which meet this benchmark will be rewarded in some tax exemptions.

On people spewing racial, religious hatred...
They should be detained under sedition act. While I was against the ISA being abolished, I would also not welcome it back at this time (flip flop is a sign of weakness). The Act that replaces ISA should avoid making political arrests, unless it was clear what was uttered by politicians, regardless of party, religion or race, would cause disharmony and disunity.

On the motor industry...
Proton and Perodua should continuously be protected by the Government but we will not be pumping Rakyat's money anymore for their Research and Development. With Lotus under its wings, Proton should start using their technology fully to make better cars, not just its handling. Protectionism here would be the current price discrimination that we have against imported cars. Foreign cars shall continue to be expensive with the current duties and tax in place. Proton aftersales will be monitored so that they reach a world class level. Proton and Perodua cars will be made cheaper, to the extend that they are so cheap but in high quality, Malaysians will come back to Proton and Perodua.

On Shiah in Malaysia...
Shiah pracitices will never be allowed here in Malaysia. The Muslims are too divided already by three political parties and it would only be worse to have a Syiah sect joining the fray. Those involved will be caught for insulting the official religion Islam.

On Anwar's "olive branch offer" for reconciliation...
Truth be told despite Anwar's moral issues, he still has the backing of a large number of Rakyat. If we could agree on the things above and for him to convince his followers on the right thing to do, apolitical and unpopular even, then national reconciliation will be on the right track. If he is sincere enough, he would not ask for positions, favours or money even. Rakyat will reward him if he toes the line.
  

Stupid to buy a car?

Yes, car is a liability.

But when you need it, especially when the public transport is poor, it has become a necessity.

Of course it's stupid to buy a car just to show off your status.

"You buy local car (Malaysian context), you are LAU YAA.' some say.

Others, break the bank to buy German cars. Cheapest available is the Volkswagen Polo Sedan.

Not as fast as Polo TSI, the CKD version is quite affordable so everyone who likes German cars would be enticed by it.

Cars are so expensive in Malaysia. And yet people buy Porsche Panamera. Actually it doesn't matter if you are a fan and if you really can afford it. But hey come on, it's stupid if you buy a car to please others.

Buy a car to please YOURSELF.

I am driving a 2008 Camry. Never in my life I would imagine buying a Camry. No, not because I'm an anglophile like some people. It's because growing up, I managed to see how my father, who is a fan of Mercedes started so humbly buying his first Mercedes, a second hand 190E. Since then, I became a fan. A former classmate Pajai told me how his father changed from one Camry to the another. A snob as I was, I just gave him a condescending smirk.

Now, I'm driving a Camry! It's just one helluva reliable car.

So why I think it's not stupid for me to buy a car? This topic was preordained by a post on Facebook by the great property investor Faizul Ridzuan (Paikor as he is known). He was tagging a link to a website encouraging people to manage money better. Here in Riyadh, the car prices are so cheap. I bought the car on second hand and it was also sold below market price. I was that lucky to be offered the car by a fellow Malaysian here in Riyadh. Not only I love my first car, I also had it repaired cosmetically.

I guess it's just if you have the passion for cars, it's not really stupid to buy one that you like, as long as your conscience is clear. You might want to prioritize in life but hey, why keep so much money if you don't really use it?

So there's no really right or wrong. (removed).

Absolute equality, absolute democracy?

I simply laughed at the hypocritical idea of having seperate coaches for men and women for KTMB trains. It is an insult to the species called 'men' implying as if we are all super randy bunch of people. Having said that, if the 'women' have now conceded that we 'men' are ALL gatal people, why can't they accept the practice of polygamy by we gatal men wholeheartedly?

The person who came out with the idea also clearly stated that it is a way to promote 'gender EQUALITY'. For me, this phrase is loosely used and somewhat misleading. There can never be such absolute equality between men and women. We are indeed different afterall. If absolute equality is what these women asked for, there should not be the practice of 'ladies first' anymore. Then, the women should be talked to like how I talk to my guy friends, making vulgar jokes at the same time. There shouldn't be such thing as a direct retaliation by buliding girls schools. London 2012 100-meter Olympics sprint, body-building, weight-lifting should then be made unisex, etc.

Men should then have an equal opportunity to be bikini models.

Yuck!

For me, the men will have their fair share of opportunities and rights based on their needs and capabilities. Same goes to the women. Not many, if not none of the women would like to be 'firewomen' or 'lumberjanes'.

There can also never be absolute equal opportunities between the rich and the poor. This is common sense. In fact, the rich should be taxed more in order to help the poor. Having said that, the poor should be groomed to be the rich not just simply giving them the goodies to be enjoyed for a short term only.

"Teach the poor how to catch fish, not just give them fish."

So what about democracy? Should there be an absolute demoracy in every parts of the world as propogated by the Americans?

I remember Big Mike from last week's American Idol. After about 35 million votes and he was the bottom of the pile, despite giving his 'best performance ever so far' the day before. If it wasn't for the more dictatorhip-style of the judges giving Big Mike another chance, American Idol, a singing competition, will be on par with Akademi Fantasia Season 3 where the guy with a mediocre voice won.

This is the flaw of democracy. You simply cannot do democracy all the time. If democracy is the only way, why didn't the Prophets Moses and Muhammad follow the voice of the majority during that time?

However you choose the leaders, the most important part is to know how just the leaders are to the people.

But remember, this is about nation governing, not your petty popularity contest!

Babi Biru Terbang

Warning: this article will get heavier and heavier as it goes along the way. Hardcores, look away now.

Many months back, the nation was rocked by a circulated picture of a tudung-clad Muslim girl holding a piglet. It turned out that she is a Vet and was doing some research for her project. It has caused some stir among the Malaysian Muslims and there were some angry quarters accusing her of ridiculing Islam. Then, there were pictures of a group of Muslimah students holding and caressing dogs and yes, they were also wearing tudung...

What???!

As usual, many Malaysians are that easy to be agitated. They are also good at making comments without doing enough research for a particular issue. They say things they do not have knowledge of. Their aim is to gain support of the masses and to be famous because they will be perceived as unique, different and great. Heck, they sometimes don't even know what they are talking about and simply agree and spread the words of some so called great leaders, politicians, ustazs, priests, monks, lawyers, actuaries, syeikhs, Al-this, Al-that etc. (Refer to our recent 'sad' story of Syariah caning as an example).

Well, I don't expect each and everyone of us to know every single thing inside out, but a little research wouldn't hurt at all.

In Islam, Muslims are not allowed to eat pork. However, Muslims are allowed to touch pigs and dogs with no problem whatsoever. I myself am not cynophobic. Walking around Kota London can be quite a challenge for me. It's either you step on a big pile of dog-'shi-oot' or licked by these canines. However of course, as a Muslim, you have to clean using an Islamic method called 'Samak'.

"Nak bela anjing boleh tak? Comel lah!!!" Can Muslims take dogs as pets?

Why not? Guide dogs, guard dogs, hunter dogs, dogs to help sheep shearing, dogs to spend time with, your favourite companion perhaps, you name it. Dogs are useful, beautiful, playful, intelligent creatures. However, don't forget to clean yourself before prayers.

Do pigs and dogs go to heaven? As far as I'm concerned all animals go to heaven. For what reason they shouldn't? It's not up to me however, it's up to God to decide. Will pigs turn blue and fly in the heavens? Again, it's possible, but it's up to God to decide.

I myself would love to turn into Superman Blue and fly in the heavens. (but not turning into a pig at the same of course!)

Okay now comes the heavier part. Do you have to 'samak' if you touched a pig or any part of it?

Pigs, they are dirty animals. The reason why we Muslims are prohibited from eating pigs is simply because it is one of the hardest to cook, to make sure that it's clean and safe to eat. My friend Andrew confirmed that to me the other day when we met at his house in Leyton. But do we have to 'samak' in this case?

Phew, that was hard for me to even write it properly. Growing up following the Syafie Mazhab, I find that hard to swallow myself. It's true that you won't find the instruction in the Quran or the Hadith telling how to deal with this kind of najis.

Okay okay before any of you go berserk (like the caning incident), of course it's not wrong at all for you to 'samak' if you touch the pig. It means you are following the Syafie Mazhab and this Mazhab is not a sect but a guide. Which guide is the best? Hanafi? Hambali? Maliki? Syafie?

Allah knows best.

My Christian brothers and sisters might be puzzled now by how Muslims can even debate about pigs and dogs, gentle little harmless creatures. I don't want to offend but it's a giant myth to say only we Muslims are not allowed to eat pork according to our faith.

It's heavier now, don't tell me I did not warn you, but my Christian friends can check these verses from the Bible. I will not quote the exact verses, you guys should know better.

Leviticus 11:7-8

Deuteronomy 14:8

Isaiah 65:3-4

Isaiah 66:16-17

Evidently, these verses also apply to the Jews. In conclusion, Muslims, Christians and Judaism followers are not allowed to eat pork.

So when people say "Dowan lah masuk Islam, cannot eat pork", that is NOT a fair statement to make.

A fair statement should be (even if they want to be provocative):

"Dowan lah masuk Islam, Christian or Judaism, cannot eat pork!"

Caning? Big deal!

I remember when I was a lot younger during my high school days. Initially, I was terrified to even think about breaking the school's rules on my first day at Kolej Yayasan Saad, Melaka. Along the way, which was quite normal for any teenager there was a sense of liberation in me that I wanted to try new things. Thank Allah, the facilities provided by Yayasan Saad was second to none. Thus, I didn't have to break any rules to catter for my desire to be adventurous... until one day.

It was just a mere BBQ Party. I was so sure we had permission to do it. 'Hey, this is KYS... not some average school and I think it's cool we gather people around and eat some grub. Tak kacau orang pun'. I thought.

We were caught 'partying' with some chicks (literally) that night and the week after I was caned. Twice, one more compared to the others. Some of us got more than once because we had a record in which I won't elaborate here as it was such a silly case. (no, not sodomy if that's what you're thinking!). The caning has taught me a very good lesson, and I owe that to our now departed Principal, Mr Ramli Maidin.

I have learned that, after 'trying out new things and being adventurous' throughout, I have created a snob of myself. I was arrogant. I thought as if the world was all mine. The caning was a painful one eventhough how many underwears I wore that night. It has also succeeded in shattering my ego. I was never a God. I couldn't even stop Mr Ramli from whipping my bony ass.

Another BBQ Party, Jeghui? You bet! But with permission. Black and white!

Did I go around telling people I was victimised? Was it just a conspiracy to bring down the school's drummer of the year (as I arrogantly thought)? I was so thin, small and wiry so it was UNFAIR by all means I got the same punishment as the beefy Mat Diyah? Justice for Jeghui???!!

No. No. No. No, it was all justified.

Years later, I read somewhere that teachers are not allowed to cane students anymore. My first thought? What pampered society have we become?

Then came the Kartika's story in which I won't elaborate here. What I know is that, Alhamdulillah she has abstained from taking alcohol and out of repentance, she wants the punishment of caning to be carried out. She looks a lot prettier now, donning the headscarf. I also heard she is going for Umrah.

And yet some people are against the things that she wants. What happened to her freedom to practice her religion?

Okay now, 1,2, or 6 lashes of the rattan? and how is the punishment be carried out? Do you even know?

Well I haven't seen how the caning is done when it comes to Islamic Syariah Law. As far as I know, the caning must not meant to cause bodily injury. Please remember that WHIPPING under the Federal Law and CANING under the Syariah Law is not the same. I have seen a demonstration of whipping under Federal Law for sexual offences, drug possession and BRIBERY during my St. Francis Melaka days. It still gives me the goosebumps everytime I think about it.

"Today, I'm ashamed to be calling myself a Malaysian..." said an Indian guy on Twitter after the news of three Muslim-women adulterers being caned broke out.

I quickly replied by saying, "You should reconsider calling yourself a Malaysian for not even knowing the Malaysian law."

I am no expert but I know that we have the dual system in the Malaysian Legal System, as enshrined in the Constitution of Malaysia (refer Article 121(1A)).

Additionally, Syariah or Islamic law is a matter of state law, except for Federal Territories of Malaysia. However, Syariah Law must adhere the Federal Constitution amended 1984 at all times:

1. Trial and punishment carried out to MUSLIMS ONLY. In other words, Non-Muslims are always exempted. (Boohoo! That's not fair! Justice for Muslims??)
2. Fine of not more than RM5000.
3. Jail term not more than 3 years.
4. Caning of not more than 6 lashes.
5. Combination of item 2,3,4 maximum permissable.

I am still searching for the item 'no caning for women' but to no avail. So, I don't understand what is the fuss all about.

Why are these people justifying adultery? They're concerned for the treatment of women, but this caning is NOTHING compared to the whipping under the Federal's Criminal Law. Are they trying to be hypocrites now when they hate men cheating on them but now they are justifying adultery? Is this how you are being fair to we men? (Note to editors, delete this section if you think it sounds sexist, though it's not to me).

It is because the Syariah Law has to follow the Constitution's guide as above, the punishment for adulterers and drunkards are slashed to a maximum 6 lashes from 20, according to the Sunnah. It could have been even a lot heftier under the Hudud Law PAS is bringing (not that I personally against it).

Six lashes of the rattan, and the whole nation went berserk. What kind of Malaysia do you want? A nation of adulterers and drunkards? Would you like to see your children becoming adulterers, drunkards, sodomites and catamites? I don't know. Maybe you people are the so-called 'Westernised people' and you think it's cool that way.

Hey, I am living in a Western country and I still keep my 'Budaya Kampung' and Islamic values everywhere. I don't have to be like them, they don't expect me to be like them. I dont expect them to be like me. So this kind of culture that you should adopt.

So I do not know what are you guys babbling about. Coming back to caning, I would love to have my children caned by the teachers, as long as it's for the right reason lah.

But of course, first things first, I have to get married in order to 'make' babies.

Adultery is waayyy too risky. Too risky for me, too risky for her.

'Moderate Muslims'

PKR Kulim Bandar Bahru MP Zulkifli Nordin is now seen by the 'people' as an extreme Muslim. He was even called a Taliban and his recent spat with giggly-on-TV (ref:Aljazeera Asia-Pacific 'Allah' debate) PAS MP Khalid Samad has somehow confirmed this label by the 'people'. Zulkifli, during his interviews with Malaysiakini has again and again said that he will not compromise when it comes to Islam. He even said he has been consistent throughout his life whenever he is asked about an Islamic issue. There are also 'people' who accuse Zulkifli as an UMNO's trojan horse.

The question is, who are these 'people'? Well, obviously, these 'people' are the people who do not actually understand Zulkifli's religion and his defence of The Constitution. These 'people' can be many of Non-Muslims or even some Muslims, whom they call themselves 'moderate Muslims'. These 'moderate Muslims' have been given heaps of praises by many Non-Muslims because simply, in their opinion, this is the kind of Muslims all Muslims should be. This is the kind of Muslims that would fit the society.

But who are these 'Moderate Muslims'? I have seen people who claimed to be 'Moderate Muslims' (MMs) in their writings. Weird enough, these people's initials, two of them in particular, are 'MM' as well. The thing is though, what makes them think that they are 'Moderate Muslims'?

So what makes you a 'highly accepted' MM?

You 'support' Kartika Sari Dewi Shukarno and calling Jabatan Agama Islam Kuantan's verdict as barbaric... and you call yourself an MM.

You reject Kartika's right to repent and to follow her Islamic faith, by accepting the caning... and you call yourself an MM.

You poke fun at Muslims who practice polygamy eventhough many of them are happy that way... and you call yourself an MM.

You call Muslim men who take second, third and fourth wife as bad, bad men, calling them 'Orang Tua Gatal' even... and you call yourself an MM.

You call for the practice of polygamy in Islam to be nationally abolished, ala USA... and you call yourself an MM.

You say capital punishment should be abolished, Hudud Law is old and outdated... and you call yourself an MM.

You say Quran is just for the people during Muhammad's (PBUH) time, outdated, should not always apply now... and you call yourself an MM.

You accept the practice of homosexuality because they have the right to fall in love... and you call yourself an MM.

You say sodomites, catamites and transvestites have their right to choose the best for their lives... and you call yourself an MM.

You say you don't have to wear the hjjaab (headscarves) because they are out of fashion... and you call yourself an MM.

You call the Muslimahs who wear the burqas 'ninjas', 'kolot' and 'oppressed by the husbands'... and you call yourself an MM.

You question the Faraid Law, saying it's unfair to the women... and you call yourself an MM.

You say drug abuse can be eradicated by giving them free drugs called Methadone... and you call yourself an MM.

You say gambling is Okay, justified by of buying and selling shares... and you call yourself an MM.

You say drinking is permissible, as long as you don't get drunk and drinking alcohol is Okay... and you call yourself an MM.

You say adultery is fine, as long as you are 'protected'... and you call yourself an MM.

You are a member of Sisters In Islam, and secular nation is the way... and you call yourself an MM.

... and the list goes on.

You see, atleast I have a little respect for Zinedine Zidane. People did ask if he was a Muslim. He replied, "Yes, but I am a non-practising Muslim".

Did he say he is a Moderate Muslim? Did he justify all the unislamic things he did or didn't do what he is supposed to do as a Muslim? Did he?

Same goes to Shah Rukh Khan. He is a Muslim. Like Zinedine, he admits to being a non-practicing Muslim. Not that he's asking people to be like him. But he is simply telling people that he is a non-practicing Muslim.

'Non-practicing', a negative phrase.

So this phrase, 'Moderate Muslims' is glorified. One even wrote a book claiming she is a Muslim entitled 'I am Muslim' when at the same time, she dares the Muslimahs to take four husbands, as an act to protest against polygamy.

An MM with the initials MM, even asked her daughter there is no need to wear the hijjab.

What if her daughter wants to wear the hijjab? What happens to the so-called 'rights' that these people have been defending?

Another MM with the initials MM, has failed in her bid to eradicate drug abuse using Methadone. Statistics in Perak has shown not only the number of addicts have increased, but they even mis-use the freely available drug called Methadone.

Someone is making money?

There is even one 'westernised bigot' with the initials WIWC, calling himself a non-racist, Liberal Muslim. What is this 'Liberal Muslim'? Liberal means 'not limited to or by established, traditional, orthodox, or authoritarian attitudes, views, or dogmas'. So is he saying the holy Quraan is an established, traditional, orthodox, authoritarian dogmas and he wants to be free from it?

I say, be like Zinedine Zidane and Shah Rukh Khan! They are Muslims (person who submits wholly to the only God, the Creator) but they admit to being non-practicing. What humble and honest people they are.

If you ask me, these self-claimed MMs are not only in denial, they even want other people to be like them, gather a large support for their causes, so that they will feel fine having people around them. This is human nature. They just want to say they are fine people even with the expense of God's commandments.

I also have a friend who told me he is not religious. He didn't even try to make an effort to make himself feel good by declaring himself a Moderate Muslim. For that, I respect him, and pray that we all, including myself, especially myself will be shown the right path that is the Siratul-mustaqim.

Brothers and sisters, there is only one Islam and there shouldn't be some kind of labelling. I know this labelling is first made by the West, calling some Muslim terrorists, Islamic fanatists, extreme Muslims, among others.

Hence the phrase 'Moderate Muslims'. If you read the Quraan, you will know that Islam is moderate, and the concept of Wasatiyyah should apply.

Again there is one Islam. Even the Islam Hadhari campaign has confused some people. But if you have the traits as stated above, thus calling yourself a Moderate Muslim, I suggest you have to reconsider labeling yourself as such. You are confusing the people even the non-Muslims!

I wouldn't have to write this article if you were to call yourself 'not religious' and 'not practicing'.

Peace be upon all of you

I think everyone should know by now that Islam is a religion of peace, and Al-Qaeda and other terrorism acts around the world is unislamic.

Islam teaches us not to solve issues through violence and also Islam teaches us to respect other people's religion.

When Muslims greet each other, we say "Peace be upon you". However, the term is also not exclusive for the Muslims.

Oh please don't go fight for the use of 'Assalaamualaikum' pulak! I am pretty sure everyone can use the greet as it promotes peace, as demanded by Islam.

I am furious with the way some people react to the issue of 'Allah' being used by Herald's BM version. I am NOT a fan of street demos, but yesterday, 10 demos were conducted peacefully at several mosques and I say kudos to them.

For a moment, today I feel a bit ashamed to call myself Malaysian as I thought the news I saw were from our neighbouring country. Churches were torched and I thought I will never see that happening in Malaysia in my life.

I am calling everyone to be calm. I do hope my humble advise is heard by the people eventhough I am just a nobody.

It is a sad day for Malaysia and thank God noone was hurt or killed.

To the politicians, please stop politicising by blaming each other. For the sake of the people, put aside your craze for popularity and power and do the right thing.

To Herald, I hope you can see now the effect of disregarding the sensitivity of millions of Muslims in Malaysia. You must remember that the Muslims in the peninsular and the East Malaysia understand differently regarding the concept of 'Allah', and do you ask yourself, is there really a need to use the term when people in the Peninsular are not READY?

To all Muslim brothers and sisters, always refer to the holy Quraan and Hadith, and you will know you should always stay calm.

To all Non-Muslim brothers and sisters, there is a need for us to understand each other and build bridges, not quarelling and bickering over sensitive issues. It is evidently clear that the gap is still very, very huge and it will take time for us to actually realise perfect mutual understanding.

Let this be a lesson for all of us. Everyone is at fault. I am not here to say 'I told you so' but when politics, insensitivity, anger and chauvinism are put aside, we will always do the right thing.

We SHOULD always do the right thing.

Know your rights

Yesterday I had a quarrel with a lady on the phone regarding a Paypal scam. Yes, yes I know you guys might think how lame I am that I could fall for the trap but in my defence, the scammer had 59 100% positive feedbacks and it didn't cross a novice user like me that eBay accounts might be hacked into.

The lady requested for a further 3-day investigation period instead of the informed-on-the-screen only 10 days were given to the seller to supply them with information to resolve the issue. I argued that Paypal didn't put the 3-day lag anywhere in the Terms and Conditions and it was so clear that Mohamad Hossain (a suspect terrorists-mother-funder *&%^&) had cheated more than 2 people after my case was opened.

15 minutes and £6 pounds later, the lady still insisted that she would look into the matter again, and I suspected PayPal has actually forgotten about the case and only revisited the matter after I gave a nasty call.

Guess what happened 2 minutes after I slammed the phone? (not literally - you simply ended the call with the touch of a button these days, if you're from Mars). The amount immediately appeared on my PayPal account balance as £442.00 instead of £0.00.

"Now you know who's the boss!" I muttered.

Well it's somehow reaffirming that customers are always right. We are like Kings and bosses when come to business deals. These people just want your money, and so, they must earn it. I remember each time I went out with me Ma for lunch or dinner in Kelana Jaya and each time if she's unhappy with her food, I will ask the waiter/waitress to taste the food/drink and ask him/her if they were any good.

In the end, it's either I ask for a refund or replace the drink (the lesser punishment always applies).

The week before, Ginnan Sushi offered me free soft-shell crab Maki and Sushi and Sashimi Set worth £18 pounds after they failed to deliver fresh sashimi in the previous order. They only did that because I demanded of my right as they stated in their advert the foods are all fresh, guaranteed in a straight-forward email.

People always forget about this kinda things. Don't call me aggressive just because I am exercising my rights. Some people are just too shy, if not too scared to ask even though they know they should get what is rightfully theirs.

However, I don't know if it works in Malaysia though. When dealing with repairs services, people seldom forget that a shoddy work by the repairman must always be complained with their service unpaid. It happened to be before when I sent my old bike for repairs in PJ when the rude Uncle nastily and hastily repaired my bike right in front of me and I simply paid him the money without no fuss.

Returning from home, I thought, what the hell? I paid RM20 for that shit service?

Atleast I have learnt from that mistake. Some people however, just don't get it. They send their cars for repairs at Ah Cheong's place, more than 10 times just to get the wiper done while the rest of the parts would came loose later.

Justice for Criminals?

1. Recently there have been some issues regarding cops killing armed-criminals causing a public outcry especially from a certain community.

2. The head of a Gangster group called Dewa was shot dead few days ago.

3. A young criminal was killed in a shootout and later the deceased's sister apparently forced her children to consume weed killer before taking it herself.

4. Today, a 22-year old man hanged himself after he was found guilty of killing his own mother and stuffing her body in a bag, under the sink. The cops are now accused of killing the man instead.

5. A young lad was shot to death after going amuk in a village armed with a chicken knife, just because he was left stranded in a karaoke outlet by his friends.

5. Cops are under pressure for allegedly using the 'shoot-to-kill' method when dealing with armed criminals.

6. I am not a law major but I did watch some American teles and films about how cops over there deal with armed criminals.

7. 'Suicide by cops' is a situation where an armed criminal actually pretends to shoot the cop (pointing the gun/weapon to the cop), and in the end, he is shot to death.

8. For this scenario, the cop will get away for being prosecuted for acting 'above the law'.

9. What if the cops and criminals are caught in a shoot-out rampage? Do you think it's easy to actually shoot someone without having to kill someone?

10. What if the criminals are notorious for raping, armed-robbery, killing, drug-trafficking (and causing more deaths) and they are on top of the Most Wanted List?

11. Should we just be 'nice' to these criminals? Or just kill them off?

12. This is one of the loopholes in the man-made law system.

13. While there is a need to protect the rights of criminals as citizens, we don't want to overeact on how actually they should be treated.

14. Do you think these criminals care about your lives when they are after your money/jewelleries/etc?

15. For me, if the cop shot dead a notorious killer, he should be lauded, not questioned. It is a sad thing losing a family member, but isn't it more sad to see your own flesh and blood roaming the town, killing, raping, extorting money from other people?

16. This is a general opinion. If I were to touch on case to case basis, it would be foolish because I don't even know what really happened.

17. For me, criminals are criminals, if their deaths are necessary to make this country a better place, so be it.

18. Think about the victim's family more and you will see why sometimes it should be that way.

19. Give some credits to the cops. Not all of them are friggin tw*ts.

20. Go to the source of the problem, reduce crimes by introducing stricter punishments.

Komen saya dalam petikan terbaru TDM - Sunnah wal jama'ah

Saya pun terkejut bagaimana Ustaz Asri pun hendak diberkas.

Namun, saya sebenarnya dah lama agak suatu hari nanti beliau akan ditangkap juga kerana kononnya membawa ajaran 'wahabi' kepada orang Malaysia.

Ini adalah pendapat saya. Jika fikirkan secara ilmiah dan aqli, adakah Allah S.W.T melarang manusia beribadat kepada-Nya dan selalu mengingati-Nya?

Sebagai contoh, jika kita lakukan wirid dan doa selepas solat, adakah ia berdosa? Adakah jika diadakan tahlil, mengajak anak-anak soleh dan solehah mendoakan kesejahteraan si mati suatu DOSA?

Benar ada suatu hadith menyatakan bahawa hendaklah beribadat mengikut cara Nabi Muhammad tetapi ia dikatakan bukan secara rigid, pada pendapat saya. Yang penting sekali kita sentiasa mengingati Allah S.W.T. dengan zikir-zikir.

Sebagai contoh, dahulunya pada zaman Nabi, tidak pula ada kelengkapan radio atau cd. Tetapi kini, jika seseorang Muslim itu mahu berzikir ketika memandu kereta dengan alunan cd zikir dan wirid serta ayat-ayat suci Al-Quraan, maka adakah itu salah pada mata 'wahabi'?

Saya berkata begini bukanlah saya menuduh Dr. Asri ini pembawa ajaran 'wahabi' yang saya lihat begitu rigid atau tegas dalam ibadat.

Saya lebih suka jika Islam ini dibawakan dengan niat memartabatkan Islam dan mengaplikasikan ajarannya demi kesejahteraan dan kejayaan semua manusia.

Apa yang berlaku di antara Sunni dan Syiah hanyalah politik semata-mata. Bagi saya, Islam hanyalah satu. Tiada Sunni, tiada Syiah, tiada Hadhari, tiada Islam PAS dan lain-lain.

Sebagai pembetulan, Islam Hadhari bukanlah ajaran baru tetapi kempen yang Pak Lah mahu rakyat terima-pakai supaya Islam ini tidak nampak ektrem sepertimana kini.

Janganlah kerana benci kepada seseorang itu, kita putar-belitkan pandangannya.

How Malay is a Malay Today?

According to the Federal Constitution of Malaysia Article 160,“Malay” means a person who professes the religion of Islam, habitually speaks the Malay language, conforms to Malay custom and -

• (a) was before Merdeka Day born in the Federation or in Singapore or born of parents one of whom was born in the Federation or in Singapore, or was on that day domiciled in the Federation or in Singapore; or
• (b) is the issue of such a person;

Question is what kind of “Malay” do we see nowadays? Maybe it’s wise to look at this definition to see if a Malay today really is… a Malay.

To be claimed as a Malay, the person must profess the religion of Islam. “Profess” in this context would mean “to affirm belief in” or “to practice”. As Muslims, during this holy month of Ramadhan, they are urged by Allah S.W.T to fast during the day, read the Quraan, perform Tarawih prayers or Tahajjud among other things so that they can be closer to Allah.

This Ramadhan alone we saw the following incidents made by Malay Muslims which are against the teachings of Islam:

• The notorious cow-head protest against the free to practice any religion as supported by the Quraan and Hadith.
• Insulting another religion by stepping and spitting a sacred animal’s head, according to the Hindu beliefs.
• Disrespecting the animal by calling it stupid while Allah sees all animals are of great benefits to mankind.
• Name callings and unable to control emotion during a leaders-residents dialogue when actually fasting teaches us to be patient.
• During a by-election final speech, a prominent leader was seen accusing another man of KILLING a woman without strong evidence – Fitnah and gossiping are strongly prohibited especially during Ramadhan.
• Some were trying to take the rights away from a Muslim mother-of-two wanting to be a good Muslimah by accepting the Syariah Law punishment for drinking.
• Muslim men caught not fasting without showing evidence of rukhsah (exclusions)
• Muslims caught drinking alcohol, having close proximity (khalwat), taking drugs, gambling and zina (adultery).

Thus, can these people still be called Malays as they do not practice Islam correctly?

Next, a Malay should habitually speaks the Malay language. However some even too shameful to even speak the National Language for example:

• “I sound stupid when I speak Malay,” – some actress I can’t remember her name
• Trying in vain to copy the slang of the local people in London even though they are talking to fellow Malaysians.
• “WHATT??? I mean… Whu-k? (British slang)” - classic Londoner-wannabe blooper.

And finally, a Malay should conform to Malay custom… don’t make me started on this one because it will only trouble the Malaysiakini editors to fit the pages. Okay I will give one quote as an example:

“What are you wearing? Baju Melayu? Ish, you are so KAMPUNG!”

BN, PR, Hindraf... we are all the same = Malaysian Politicians

Funny quotes/incidents proving that we are all the SAME as we are all Malaysian Politcians.
1. BN spoke about how the alternative media like Malaysiakini, Harakah daily and others being biased and must be controlled or ban because 'they could cause confusion and generate hate'. Even bloggers are not spared. Pakatan, defended all these media because the they support its agenda.

--- Pakatan (notably Anwar and Lim Guan Eng ban UTUSAN journalists from hearing their press conference!

Verdict: Freedom of speech from BOTH sides my ass.

2. Some UMNO leaders being branded as racists and would usually say something like "Go back to China/India" or "Go back to where you came from" or "Kalau tak suka boleh keluar Malaysia" out of anger (and stupidity)

--- One Hindraf (championed by Pakatan) leader named C Tharmaraj today asked Lim Guan Eng (DAP) to 'step down as Chief Minister of Penang and go back to where he came from (Malacca)'

Verdict: We are all racists still even if it takes 0.001% of your soul, because we are from different ethnics and backgrounds, just live with it! Malaysians Malaysia my ass. Keep your identity intact while respecting other people's beliefs and cultures and we will make our nation great (again).

3. BN components care about their people of different ethnics. UMNO wants to protect the rights of the Malays, MCA representing the Chinese, MIC helping the Indians etc.

--- Pakatan say they are different. They are not really race-based and will NEVER use the race cards. Well not quite right.. PKR still claim they will protect the Constitution including the Malay rights and the existence of Kings and Rulers. NEP will abolished, yes, but it's not really abolishing it, but literally RENAMING it. PKR is still predominantly Malays. DAP, how many Non-Chinese is in DAP? They even have websites in Chinese. Youtube comments and pages are in Chinese language as well. How many Malays are in DAP? So of course they want equality because it will favour Non-Malays with the demise of hardcore poor as well (who are mostly Bumiputras). One MP from DAP even had the b*lls (or should I say t*ts because the MP doesn't have them) to say that the government should allocate more fund to help young entrepreneurs regardless of their financial backgrounds (again, not helping poor people! WHAT are you??). Meanwhile, Hadi (PAS-Pakatan) today has said that removing the 30% Bumi quota by PM will weaken Bumis. PAS members are almost 100% Malay Muslims.

Verdict: Race-based politics outdated? You people ahh.. so in denial! And yeah, PAS (Malays/Muslims) and DAP (Chinese,Indians/Secular, Socialists) will never work together because they are so different! Nuff said.

4. Corruption corruption corruption... People always blame Barisan leaders as MOST corrupt. Which is true but how about the people from the other side?

--- Fairuz (PKR) had a corruption case regarding quarries in Penang. Well, he is not alone. One young PKR leader has asked around young Malay entrepreneurs if they would like to open business with his help. He blatantly said, "ini bukan rasuah.. tapi PROFIT SHARING lah!" (translated - this is not corruption but profit sharing will do). Man that is worse than UNDER TABLE one-off money. You will get lump sum money in a traditional bribery but profit sharing is far worse! Say if the young company made RM1 Million so how much the company has to share with you? 50%? What about next year? another round of 'profit' for only lobbying the project? Next year? For the next 10,20 years? Kaya lah kau camtu goyang kaki saja! Every year plak tu! What have you done to help these young businessmen? Virtually nothing if you ask me. And what's up with this DAP case of buying RM4000 karaoke set? Every single cent also want to take ah? Siao lu!

Verdict: People still want to get rich quick even if it's dirty money. But of course not all leaders like that.
