Official: There is no good people in Pakatan

Just when I thought PAS would uphold justice and truth, just when I thought I should open my heart and be "husnuzon" (having good faith) to PAS, they failed in this integrity test given by Allah to simply do the right thing.

 

Actually this is what I initially thought, that they would betray Abdul Khalid (to uphold justice and truth) for Pakatan Rakyat, but I shrugged it off, thinking in unity, we should apply husnuzon. Clearly I should have trusted my instinct, rather than hope from the very people I condemned, thinking Muslim unity in Malaysia would finally be materialised.

 

Their excuse? For the sake of Pakatan Rakyat. Abdul Khalid is no longer relevant to Pakatan Rakyat because he is no longer with Pakatan Rakyat. He is no longer the concern of PAS.

 

They did not ask why Abdul Khalid was sacked? Or if it was really justified that he was sacked? Those allegations, I swear on my grandfather's grave will be swept under the carpet even by the very people who accused Khalid of doing, since he no longer has the support of the majority of the ADUNs - he is doomed as Menteri Besar Selangor.

 

Ethical politics, as I would like to call it, is still a long way to go. Don't give me anymore of that Reformashit, or Bershit or PAShit even. Those are just mere lies to allure some of us marhaen idiots, who would not even believe both Mustafa Ali and Anwar Ibrahim were caught in indecent acts in extramarital affairs. Even with evidence! Why is this important? Well, if they could cheat on their wife, they could cheat on us rakyat too. Ask Abdul Khalid. He knows this now.

 

Why is it so hard to do the bloody right thing? In case you would like to know why we have hate-crimes, racism, genocides, murders... because we chose the wrong people and these people think politics is above everything including doing what is ethical and right and most of all God. Since you people are the very people who encouraged these monsters, why not we start acting like King makers, not Yes men and women - who would just accept this unethical coup de tat. Didn't many of us voted Pakatan Rakyat in Selangor because of Abdul Khalid's good administration?

 

"Khalid is a good administrator, but not politician. This is politics." This kind of thinking should stop. We need leaders, not politicians - who would do anything to stay in power and mislead the people. Khalid is indeed the best MB we had so far. What did he do wrong? So come the state snap-election, I would like to see people punish PKR. I am not asking to get Khir Toyo back into the government. Just show Pakatan Rakyat we rakyat are not pushovers.

 

A reduced majority in Selangor would do. Pakatan Rakyat losing Selangor? Better! But you need to back those MCA and MIC people in so that we have a better representation of Selangorians in the State Assembly.

 

About my preamble? Yes. A united Muslims in Malaysia will bring about a united Malaysia because there won't be anymore racial, religious issues to stoke about. This was already explained here.

What Next for Abdul Khalid?

We Selangorians now have an independent Menteri Besar after his sacking from PKR yesterday. Irony. Abdul Khalid Ibrahim was accused of a working “independently”, “not a team player” all this while anyway as he would not listen to de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim when running Selangor. Well, if this is not a good thing, then you are being hypocritical with the way you see others ruling the people by proxy i.e. having a puppet leader.

Yesterday also marked the fall of Pakatan Rakyat government in Selangor, technically speaking, as the state is run by Khalid Ibrahim and his team of Executive Councilors. Since Abdul Khalid is now party-less, it would be kind of strange for his councilors from PKR and DAP to be working with him, unless these councilors are still supporting him as menteri besar. Or, that they are a bunch of power-hungry politicians who would not relinquish their positions with or without Khald. I am inclined to believe the latter.

 As mentioned in an earlier article, PAS is now in the driving seat in both determining the new Selangor government and the vote of no confidence motion in the assembly, if that would ever happen. PAS are effectively at the crossroads of their own party struggle (perjuangan) with either to stay ethical and honorable or sacrifice a good man for the sake of Pakatan Rakyat, in a marriage of inconvenience with DAP and PKR, against the force of old foes Barisan Nasional. Their decision would simply be the road PAS would take in determining its own future including at national level so they really have to think it through, and quick.

Abdul Khalid is seeking an audience with the Sultan of Selangor, the person who would eventually be the final decision maker, for his advice. Abdul Khalid would ask the Sultan’s opinion if it would be wise to join PAS and still command the majority of the support. Although the Sultan would not want to be involved in this time and money-wasting politics, he is wise enough to know what he as a Sultan wants. Abdul Khalid checks all the requirements made by Sultan. Someone he can trust, someone who would uphold Islam, someone who would work for the Rakyat and honest in his administration. Although I am not the Sultan and am not speaking on behalf of the Sultan, my sources indicate that the Sultan do not want Wan Azizah as the new menteri besar for many reasons.

 So just a reminder, the Sultan is the ultimate decision maker, with or without vote of confidence.

Strategically, Abdul Khalid should maintain a good relationship with Sultan and PAS if he were to keep his post as the rightful menteri besar. Losing one of them would be history for Abdul Khalid and a huge tragedy for the ethical, moral, clean and effective administration of Selangor.

PAS would support Abdul Khalid as the rightful menteri besar, accept him in the party but insist on staying with Pakatan Rakyat. There is nothing DAP and PKR can do about it because they do not own Pakatan Rakyat and Abdul Khalid could be completing his second term after all.

 As it stands:  In the no confidence vote: PAS 15, BN 12, IND 1, DAP 14 and PKR 13

In creating new state government: PAS 15, BN 12, IND 1, DAP 15 and PKR 13

Dead-end for Anwar and Rafizi

More than a month after Kajang Move was launched, we lost our brothers and sisters in the MH370 tragedy. Both Reformasi 2.0 and Kajang Move had died down since until recently the latter was revived.

As soon as it was resurrected, again we lost our brothers and sisters in another aviation tragedy, the shooting down of MH17.

No, Kajang Move did not cause these tragedies. However, it is very important to note how these power-crazed politicians ignore these national tragedies and moved forward with their power-lust, unethical agenda. I will mention names. These people are no other than Anwar Ibrahim with the help of Rafizi Ramli. PKR's popularity went down in the most hypocritical fashion.

Anwar’s attack on Tun Mahathir back in the 90s used nepotism claim on the former premier. Now, after failing to wrest Putrajaya from Barisan Nasional in the 13^th General Election, he wants to make himself the Menteri Besar of the richest state of Malaysia. Since his sodomy verdict was overturned by the Court of Appeal, he has to back his too obedient wife to be the puppet Menteri Besar, something she admits today of what is exactly going to happen. His daughter, who is currently facing marital problems, is the Lembah Pantai MP. If this is not nepotism, then donkeys might actually fly.

Another famous PKR propaganda is “Demi Rakyat” (for the People). For most of us Selangorians, we know Abdul Khalid Ibrahim is working hard for the people evidently the RM3 billion pile of cash reserve he accumulated and the recent concluded water deal in which he thought was fair value, based on his reputable investment banking skills. Evidently, Kajang Move, in which to remove Khalid is not the wish of the Rakyat and the tagline Demi Rakyat is not more than just a big fat lie. In a recent survey by Astro Awani, 62.4% of Rakyat favour Khalid Ibrahim to retain as Menteri Besar Selangor while Wan Azizah only managed to get 9% for the same post.

We all thought Kajang Move was just a mere scam to get people’s attention on Anwar Ibrahim’s sodomy conviction and rejuvenating “Reformasi”. The timing of the MH370 had somewhat failed Reformasi 2.0 as not many had turned up in its first gathering at Kajang Stadium. Maybe this is true along until recently, noticing the support for PKR has gone down, they are going back to their words the Kajang Move is to remove Khalid, so that people will go “oh, Kajang Move is really necessary”. Funny though, reviving Kajang Move has not only lose PKR’s integrity much more but also could spell the breakup of Pakatan.

Kajang Move, where fanboys thought to be made by a genius could even mark the death of two-party system.

PAS is now sitting pretty as the Kingmaker of Selangor over this issue. Should Khalid be expelled from PKR, PAS can conveniently accept him with open arms, increasing the number of ADUNs to 16, the biggest in the ruling coalition while retaining the Menteri Besar. This move will infuriate PKR and DAP but PAS will conveniently say they will still remain with Pakatan Rakyat nonetheless. PKR or DAP cannot expel PAS from Pakatan Rakyat as there is really no Pakatan Rakyat under a registered society. Then, this is a dead-end for both Anwar and Rafizi together with their political career.

Abdul Khalid Ibrahim, a man with principle, will not resign. If he does, he will be forgotten as a lame duck who went down without a good fight against immoral politicians. As the Malay says, “bukan anak jantan”. So PKR might think they can push for vote of no confidence against Khalid in the State Assembly. With PAS and Barisan out to defend the man, the vote will not be in their favour; the possibility the PANDAn MP genius has failed to see.

Barisan might pounce at this opportunity to regain Selangor together with PAS, Khalid Ibrahim and other Khalid supporters who might also defect. Again, dead-end for Anwar Ibrahim and Rafizi Ramli.

The ultimate decision maker for the post, the Sultan of Selangor, will also oppose the appointment of Wan Azizah as the Menteri Besar, so I was told. Triple dead-end.

So, I wonder, what were they trying to do actually apart from showing Anwar Ibrahim is the boss of PKR? Not Khalid Ibrahim. Not even the President. Thus, Kajang Move is just a bloody waste of Rakyat’s time and money, really.

PKR's Kajang Scam shows arrogance

Never a huge fan of Rafizi Ramli, the whole Kajang "Scheme" has shown the character of this man himself, who is byfar, the most arrogant young leader I have ever known beating Khir Toyo.

First of all, he boasted that he was the master-strategist in the whole issue. He also said "sorry" after taking the wonderful Kajangites for a ride. It's like spitting on his mother's face and then said sorry. The arrogance was clear since he didn't care the feelings of the Kajangites who voted bearly eight months back only to have to do it again just to resolve an internal party issue. He was also too arrogant to see that millions of ringgit would be spent on this high stake by-election.

Sorry was the only word he offered to charm the Rakyat. Now compare this word to the troubles that would come later and the monies to be spent.

He later continues to sing the praises of Anwar Ibrahim comparing him to Winston Churchill but the Rakyat are mostly against this "Kajang move".

Rafizi, who blocked me on Twitter for simply asking about the truth regarding the allegation of his RM 30,000 monthly salary, went on to feel like he is Barney Stinson from a top TV Show "How I met Your Mother", despite the "striking resemblance". He received an overwhelming backlash from the members of the public but of course, with his arrogance, he would just shrug off his critics and continue to fly up in the sky.

Rafizi learned from the "best", who seems set to become the ADUN of Kajang, Anwar Ibrahim. His sifu, who also blocked me on Twitter (Zaid Ibrahim, Raja Petra, Nurul Izzah, Mohd Asri Zainul Abidin all did it as well) claimed that Khalid Ibrahim would be removed although the Sultan will have the final call. It is also contingent to the greenlight by other Pakatan partners who had more ADUN seats than PKR.

I know you might think they blocked me from Twitter as a non-issue, and later you might also accuse me of "blockable" for being too blunt. It is worth mentioning here that Nik Nazmi who received quite a number of tweet-attacks from me did not do the same. For that, I still respect him and as for the rest, to me they are a bunch of arrogant leaders.

Although I cannot guarantee that Nik Nazmi would not block me now for dragging his name to this humble blogpost, it is important to know that for a simple thing that you do, it tells a lot about your character.

You talked about how UMNO leaders can be arrogant. I concur and can even name some of the them. But this Kajang Scam is the mother of all arrogance in Malaysian politics.

I did TITAS when I was in UiTM Malaysia. At first I thought it's a syllabus that siswazah boleh tidur je. Turned out, its one of the best subjects. Why? That was the first time my view about Jews change. Before that, as a typical Muslim raised in Malaysia, we were told the Jews are to be condemned. Kau tanyalah Melayu dekat Malaysia bila datang soal Yahudi, semua akan melenting. Ingat tak insiden Avram Grant kena boo dekat stadium? I was not one of them! Why? Because of TITAS!



The good ustaz told me about how the Jews of the modern world are the decendants of the good Jews who follow the religion of Moses which was originally also... Islam. The pharoahs and his supporters were killed by famine and the world at that time dah pun terkelangkup (surely racist chauvinist Chinese DAP tak paham this word).



Takda langsung soal nak kutuk agama lain ke, bangsa lain ke. So just because this racist chauvinistic Chinese DAP MP cakap macam ni, engkorang dah terus nak caya and nak cakap TITAS tu jahat.



Piiiraaah! Go to the class first then complain. I have my own experience to tell and because of TITAS I am now a changed man. My thoughts on the Jews, on the Iranians Shiahs, the Christians, the Buddhists the Hindus all change. I swear on my grandpa's grave that what I stated above is true. I dunno if you can find them on my blog because I remember writing about this experience before.



And by God, it was from the TITAS. I passed the subject by simply attending the classes. Also, I thought this subject is only compulsory for Muslims.



And what the heck is this about aborigines pulak? TITAS bunuh orang asli rights? Tak payah laa nak twist and turns and attacking Islam in this great Ramadhan (and you think you will get away with it. And you think brave Muslims will just shut up like some others in this forum yang kononnya tak racist ramai kawan bukan Melayu?). As far as I know, Orang Asli are Bumiputras and they should receive all the bumirights and special position as enshrined in the Constitution.



I wonder why there is no topic here about ALVIVI sexbloggers who were parading their small, ugly assets and think it's cool? Not to mention buat ucapan bukak puasa dengan babi wangi dan menyelerakan? Because they are Chinese? Gimme a break!



TITAS to make compulsory for all Muslim students in local and private varsities. Hell yeah. As far as I know, it's all good.



And those racist, chauvinist people regardless of race, veiled-attacking Islam should just look at themselves in the mirror and repent. Racism is so 90s!

There has not been much heated debate on this list in a while, so below my thoughts on the so-called 'Islamic Civilisation' class (TITAS) that may be soon imposed on our university students.

My conclusion: it's MICO in disguise and is a smokescreen to get our attention away from other 'unIslamic' (and generally inhuman) goings-on, such as an amendment to the Aboriginal People's Act which may see the Orang Asli losing >80% of the land they claim. And of course, there is the TPPA and a few other things like that happening at the moment. Small wonder that the 'Allah issue' has been brought up again.

Will Malaysians fall into the trap? That is the question.

All counter-arguments, brickbats, hot coals etc. are welcome. But I may not respond till next week.

1. Letter to my MP regarding compulsory Islamic Civ. in Malaysian universities

Regarding these articles, if the reporting is accurate, as a constituent of Beruas, I would like to register my disagreement with some of the views expressed --- especially: “How will this help those who are studying to become lawyers, doctors and engineers?” --- and to propose a different approach, which I hope will be more constructive.



It is never a loss when we learn about other civilisations. Indeed, when one studies different civilisations (or even the same civilisation but at different points in history) one can learn from their mistakes and also their achievements. But of course nothing must be imposed on the students.



What we are observing now in French universities is that the hyper-specialisation of doctors, lawyers, engineers etc. is leading to people who only know how to 'execute' --- who can build wonderful railways, nuclear centres and what not --- but who do not know why they are doing all these things and who do not have any larger vision for the world and their place in it. This is in part due to the semi-destruction and 'chopping up' of the Sorbonne (and other French universities) which started during the Revolution, continued under Napoleon and has only become worse since --- such that lawyers only study law, physicists only study physics etc. and there is no formation of the whole person. I believe this may be one of the root causes (or at least one of the correlate symptoms) of the European crisis (economic, but also moral, leadership, cultural and civilisational) that we are going through now.



At the moment I and others are fighting very hard to have the humanities (and social sciences) re-introduced at the Université Paris-Sud, which is basically half of the 'chopped up' Sorbonne's old science faculty. As part of this effort, I may be teaching a philosophy/history of ideas course in 2014-2015.



For Malaysia, I propose as a solution that diverse civilisational studies should be offered: Western European, Slavic, Indian, Japanese, American, African, Middle Eastern etc. but that none should be imposed. Malaysia and Malaysians are in a unique position to study and learn from many cultures as we are already a multicultural society and we have ties to many other countries around the world. This is a huge advantage that we have over other countries, e.g. France. We must let this advantage blossom rather than letting certain parties turn it into a disadvantage.



Another proposal is to develop the field of South East Asian civilisational studies. SEA 'entered into history' several centuries ago now and yet we do not seem to have our own identity. Instead, we are borrowing from from the West, the Middle East, the Far East and everywhere. It is time to develop our own identity especially in view of growing intra-ASEAN ties, including the ASEAN EC in 2015. This will also help build up Malaysian national identity instead of pulling us in different directions.



I would be happy to share further observations about the education system here (and in the US) if this will help your reflection.

2. Some initial comments in a discussion with some friends (of diverse religious backgrounds)



informal reports from local unis says that sometimes the 'lecturers' are zealots who turn the 'civilisation' course into a 'conversion' course. these should be checked. if true, i don't think this is doing islam any favours or improving its image. one suggestion i made is to have ALL students take a 'multicultural' class on a culture they are not familiar with. (another is in the letter above.) but before it can be implemented, all the zealots have to be weeded out, whether from the Islamic civilisation course, the Russian civ. course, the Western civ. course, the Indian civ. course or the Buddhist civ. course: our neighbours in Myanmar have shown that 'even' Buddhists can be extremists. is the western silence on the rohingya massacre due to the fact that the 'west' can't wrap their heads around this? This sort of 'multicultural' requirement was in place at my alma mater and i believe in many american unis. so it can be done...again, provided there are no zealots of any kind involved, whether buddhist, hindu, atheist, shia, catholic, lutheran, sunni, alevi, sufi, ibadi, s.i.b., anglican or other. there were some atheist zealots at my old uni, but i survived. ** i believe that each student learning about other cultures (even 'strange' ones for us like russian, japanese, african etc.) will help broaden people's minds and help us to get closer to '1malaysia' and maybe 'one global village'. but not imposing one course on everyone: that will only increase distrust and hatred.





the immediate problem for malaysia is that the trappings of islam (i do not say islam itself) have been used to serve certain political purposes: http://asiapacific.anu.edu.au/newmandala/2013/05/17/ways-of-seeing-malaysia-deconstructing-demographic-violence/we are not even at the level of discussing 'fundamentals' about different ways of seeing the world as it were, because we are stuck at another level of 'power plays'.



the challenge for whoever would lead malaysia is this: can they offer a way for malaysians to think difference as peace and unity instead of violence --- violence either in the form of Apollonian 'totality' or Dionysian chaos? (The former is very close to what we have at the moment.) i think malaysians are longing for a true vision of peace but so far nobody has stepped forward to offer this. also, this is a question that is facing many across the world at the moment. malaysians, and especially malaysian leaders, are in a unique position to provide an answer which will be a huge step forward for mankind --- or to fail miserably.







3. Further comments in the same discussion

Dear friends, I have had the opportunity to look a little more closely at the TITAS syllabus now and I have come to a rather distressing conclusion. So distressing that I'm getting this down in writing before I go to bed: TITAS is MICO in disguise.

TITAS seems almost like a 'Malaysian studies' course, except it takes a particular view of Malaysia which I think is actually very harmful to Malaysia.





1. There is no discussion of Orang Asal. The subliminal message is Our dear Kadazan, Murut, Bajau, Lun Bawang, Jakun, Sakai etc. friends: you do not exist. Full stop. Or, 'you don't have any culture', which amounts to the same thing. To exist, you must now choose: do you want to be M, I or C? Pick your side in the 'great Malaysian civil war', but you cannot be yourselves.



2. The syllabus is designed to divide Malaysians into hard categories and to tell them that 'these "civilisations" will always be different and they will always be antagonistic and mutually exclusive. Particularly worrying are the parts about 'interactions with other cultures'. What will be said here? I would not be surprised if the discussion is framed in terms of conflict and 'irreconciliable differences'. I am also worried about the 'survival' chapters, whic might be what Kessler describes as 'trying to induce a siege mentality':http://asiapacific.anu.edu.au/newmandala/2013/06/12/malaysias-ge13-what-happened-what-now-part-1/ All this is totally contrary to any effort to build up a Malaysian identity and Malaysian unity.

Imagine a Malaysia where people went around calling themsleves Hakka-Scots-Lun Bawang. Or Jakun-Irish-Sumatran. Or Kutien-Irish-Burmese. Or Keralan-Hokkien-Murut. Or Tamil-Temiar-Batak-Peranakan. Would it help Malaysian unity? Of course, by creating 'human bridges' across different cultures and identities. And the fact is that many Malaysians are very mixed. But true Malaysian unity would hurt certain interests. The interests of coalitions whose parties are divided accoring to the 'headings' of the TITAS syllabus chapters above.



In GE13, many Malaysians rejected race-based interests. The political parties then had two choices in order to remain relevant: 1. Change (e.g. disband or merge race-based parties), or 2. Try to make those Malaysians striving for unity 'racist as usual' again. It looks like certain parties have made their choice clear. This syllabus is clearly designed to firmly divide Malaysians into hermetic categories and to convey the idea that these 'hard categories' of people should never 'mix'. This is a truly sad day for Malaysia. The presentation of this course as 'Islamic civilisation' was a clever trick to distract attention from the real contents and also to provoke a reaction from Perkasa analogue groups from other religions. And it succeeded.



Not incidentally, as explained in my article above, this 'way of seeing Malaysia' is also used to quietly 'wipe out' the Orang Asal. Is it any coincidence that the Aboriginal People's Act is being amended at the same time that TITAS came out?



My friends, certain people are trying to distract us by making us hate each other while they quietly steal away the tanah pusaka of the Orang Asli. (East Malaysian natives may be next but for the moment there are too many of them in the cabinet.)



Let's not fall into this trap. I hope that no true Muslim will fall for this. Nor any true believer of any other religion. Nor atheists who believe in the dignity of the human person and the common good.



Let us expose TITAS for what it is (another attempt to divide and rule Malaysians) and move on to the real fight. Let us unite and fight for our weaker brethren whose land is being taken away from them.

Double blow for Pakatan

Pakatan Rakyat has suffered a double blow to wrest Putrajaya from the ruling coalition as the 13th General Election looms. The death of Private Investigator Balasubramaniam due to heart illness has not been a good timing as he was only about to "reveal all" in a nation-wide campaign. Then came a series of pictures purportedly taken from a video feed featuring two men in compromising positions where one of them appears to be of Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

Conspiracy theorists may have suggested the former was killed while the latter was not the man who featured in the video. However, reality would soon settle-in to the minds of even the hardcore supporters as hard proofs would soon be released. Some supporters have even admitted they do not care if the man in the video was Anwar Ibrahim as long as "ABU" (Anyone But UMNO) movement is implemented when choosing the new Government. While the UMNO-ists might see this as a veiled attacks against the Malays as a whole, many has also seen UMNO as a party drenched with filth of corruption.

A large section of PAS party leaders and supporters have declared unfavourable to the idea of Anwar Ibrahim becoming the new Prime Minister if Pakatan were to take over the Federal Government. The notion of this movement might have stemmed from the sentiments among the grassroots supporters, in which I could only assume, Anwar's moral scandals. The sudden U-turn made by the leaders could not have been timely as it was first mentioned publicly only months before the impending General Election.

This is somewhat disastrous because Pakatan Rakyat could not afford to show differences in opinion among them to the public. They have not even agreed on the same logo or if the Buku Jingga is taking into account the aspirations of PAS to make Malaysia and Islamic (or welfare state).

At this point PAS should not make public any differences of opinion against sister parties like DAP or PKR. Seat allocations have yet to be confirmed and I expect PAS to actually fight for having the majority of seats contested, if not won, in which Anwar himself would not allow. There is a certain feeling among their leaders that PAS should actually lead Pakatan Rakyat, not PKR. Some even suggested that it is normal to elect the Prime Minister from the party that won the most federal seats but Anwar Ibrahim has insisted that they should have two Deputies, one who is Lim Kit Siang and the other should be Hadi Awang.

Personally I feel that PAS is playing a dangerous game by ignoring the two incidents mentioned and trying to push Ustaz Hadi to be the rightful Prime Minister. It is either they accept Anwar as the Pakatan's Prime Minister or join Barisan Nasional when the time comes.

Unless they are confident enough that they could win more seats than PKR and keep Pakatan intact in which is very unrealistic to me.

I am no shrink but by the words chosen by her in her writings, I conclude that.

1. She is mentally ill.
2. She is scarred for life of whatever trouble she faced before. Blaming it on Islam.
3. She is an attention seeker, in which she has won, only in a bad way.
4. She is not pretty and made it worse on herself by colouring her hair blonde. Since I have been wanting to become a beauty pageant judge, I would rate her as 10... out of 10 billion.
5. Good news that Interpol has co-operated to bring her to justice. But don't forget those Malay-liberals-civil society who demand freedom of speech (or lies).
6. I bet no normal man would do her and her smile is so sinister it could be used for anti-premature ejaculation.
7. Whatever it is, her fate is sealed. Another waste of life.

Adakah PKR mengajar rakyat yang bukan-bukan?

Beberapa bulan yang lalu, negara dikejutkan dengan telatah segelintir remaja yang mengadakan demonstrasi jalanan mendesak kerajaan melupuskan hutang PTPTN. Tindakan tersebut telah dipelopori sebuah parti politik yang tidak asing lagi, Parti Keadilan Rakyat atau umumnya, PKR. Para remaja yang mengikuti rusuhan jalanan yang pada pandangan saya, memalukan negara di kaca mata dunia ini tidak terlepas daripada melakukan aksi yang tidak senonoh untuk mendapat perhatian media. Demonstrasi Hapuskan PTPTN ini hanyalah membawa mesej yang negatif kerana hutang apakah yang tidak perlu dibayar?

Rakan sekerja Democratic Action Party (DAP) tidak mengikut serta propaganda licik dan tidak beretika ini atas dasar prinsip dan tahu yang PTPTN ini sebenarnya membantu. Seorang anggota PKR yang diketahui umum membongkar penyalahgunaan dana pinjaman mudah (soft-loan) oleh sebuah syarikat milik suami seorang pemimpin kini bertindak seperti seorang hipokrit apabila mengalu-alukan pinjaman bantuan PTPTN tidak dibayar oleh bekas pelajar yang sudah pun bekerja dengan alasan "Pendidikan Percuma Untuk Rakyat". Ini memberi mesej yang membimbangkan kerana rata-rata pelajar yang mengambil pinjaman ini ramai yang liat untuk membayar walaupun bayaran ansuran sangatlah kecil, bukannya beribu-ribu dan membebankan. Mudah bukan? Syarikat "kroni" yang gagal hutangnya diambil alih kerajaan. Inilah yang dicanang oleh PKR. Tetapi di bawah janji-janji PKR, pelajar yang gagal hutang mereka pun akan diambil alih kerajaan. Kedua-duanya menggunakan wang rakyat. Adil atau hipokrasi?

Saya sendiri berasa adalah tidak adil jika hutang PTPTN dilupuskan begitu sahaja. Dana PTPTN adalah bertujuan membantu pelajar untuk menjadi lebih cemerlang, bukan untuk membeli telefon mudah alih yang baru dan canggih atau membikin motor atau kereta supaya gadis mudah cair. Nak dijadikan cerita, saya mendapat bantuan PTPTN di waktu pelajar yang mendapat ijazah kelas pertama tidak perlu membayar balik pinjaman PTPTN dibekukan. Alhamdulillah, PTPTN telah mempertimbangkan dan meluluskan permohonan saya untuk tidak membayar balik atas dasar keputusan yang cemerlang. Mengapa pula pelajar yang gagal tidak perlu membayar balik pula? Siapakah mereka ini?

Apabila saya menyebut pelajar yang "gagal", saya yakin ini adalah pilihan perkataan yang tepat. Pelajar yang cemerlang dengan kelas pertama tidak perlu membayar balik pinjaman PTPTN. Pelajar yang tidak mendapat kelas pertama tetapi tidak gagal kerana berjaya mendapat pekerjaan dan bayaran ansuran dalam lingkungan RM70 sehingga RM150 sebulan. Jika bayaran ini dilihat membebankan, ini adalah sama ada bekas pelajar ini gagal mendapat pekerjaan, gagal menamatkan pelajaran, malas, tidak mengenang budi, pencuri dana PTPTN dan korup. Itulah persepsi yang diberikan oleh mereka yang berdemo tempoh hari. Ya, sama seperti syarikat kroni yang dipukul canang oleh PKR.

Tamat isu PTPTN, kini datang pula kempen Turunkan Harga Kereta. Saya sebenarnya terkejut kerana yang mendalangi kempen ini salah satunya adalah seorang cerdik pandai, akauntan bertauliah yang bersuara penyet serta dikatakan pernah dibayar RM30,000 sebulan oleh sebuah syarikat gergasi nasional. Apa sahaja yang beliau dibayar kini tidak pula diceritakan olehnya mungkin takut orang merompaknya (atau karier politiknya terjejas atas kerana bayaran yang begitu banyak).

Empat isu telah saya bangkitkan menerusi laman Twitter tetapi oleh kerana bekas akauntan ini telah "block" saya (atas sebab yang tidak dapat dipastikan, selalunya adalah masalah ego dan keangkuhan manusia bergaji besar), terpaksalah saya ajukan permasalahan penting yang harus diambil kira kepada rakan sejawatnya yang juga seorang kawan dari kolej.

Umum diketahui rakyat di Lembah Klang kesesakan lalu lintas adalah ditahap yang kritikal. Kekadang itu lucu kerana tol dibayar tetapi terpaksa juga mengharungi lautan kenderaan pelbagai rupa ada yang seperti kotak tisu pun ada. Jika kempen ini dilaksanakan, kesesakan akan bertambah kerana kereta kini lebih murah dan mampu dimiliki. Ada juga penyokong kempen yang menyatakan saya ini tidak fikir tentang rakyat miskin di luar bandar atau luar Lembah Klang. Betul, harga kereta di Malaysia adalah mahal tetapi terfikirkah anda walaupun mahal, rakyat masih lagi berdegil untuk membeli kereta termasuklah yang berjenama. Mungkin ini adalah kerana pengangkutan awam yang tidak boleh diharap tetapi bukankah jaringan My Rapid Transit (MRT) sedang giat dibangunkan? Bagi soal golongan yang kurang berkemampuan di luar Lembah Klang, sepatutnya disarankan untuk juga mendesak kerajaan untuk menambah-baik pengangkutan awam. Jika kenderaan juga yang mereka mahukan, sepatutnya PKR mencadangkan agar mereka dibantu dari segi kewangan (subsidi), bukannya menurunkan harga kenderaan khususnya kereta import dengan menyahkan tiga cukai duti, eksais dan jualan sekaligus.

Wakil rakyat saya YB Tony Pua akan saya ingat sebagai seorang pemimpin yang secara ikhlas mahukan Lembah Klang bebas daripada kesesakan lalulintas dengan mencadangkan supaya jaringan integrasi pengangkutan bas sejajar dengan kemudahan MRT yang bakal disediakan. Beliau tidak memilih jalan populis tetapi mahu rakyat benar-benar bebas daripada kesesakan jalan raya secara total. Mungkin inilah bezanya orang DAP dan PKR.

Jika diumumkan Turunkan Harga Kereta sebagai suatu polisi kelak, walaupun dengan tempoh implementasi lima tahun, harga kenderaan yang ada sekarang akan terus jatuh mendadak. Nilai kenderaan di jalanan kini akan jatuh merudum rata-ratanya ke tahap setengah harga. Mungkin para penyokong kempen cuma berangan-angan seperti Mat Jenin untuk membeli Toyota Wish, Cardina atau Porsche Cayenne (aneh, ketiga-tiganya idaman masyarakat Melayu Malaysia). Mereka tidak sedar yang nilai kereta mereka yang sedia ada akan jatuh menjunam dan perkara ini bukanlah boleh dipandang enteng. Hutang bank yang ada masih perlu dijelaskan. Kali ini, jangan harap kerajaan PKR akan membayarnya juga seperti hutang PTPTN tetapi setakat ini, janji bulan dan bintang adalah perkara normal kini jadi saya tak akan terkejut lagi! Encik dan Puan Jenin terpaksa menambah lebih banyak wang kerana kenderaan sedia ada yang mahu dijual balik akan susut nilai. Jika masih lagi berdegil mahu "upgrade kepada Wish", fikirlah dua tiga kali.

Bagaimana pula dengan nasib pengusaha kereta terpakai? Saya tahulah mereka ini tidak lah ramai bilangannya jika dibandingkan dengan Mat-mat Jenin. Undi mereka begitu sedikit. Jelas di sini perusahaan mereka akan terjejas sejurus selepas kempen ini menjadi polisi kerajaan. Mereka telah pun mengeluarkan modal yang banyak untuk menjual kereta-kereta ini dan kini akan mendepani kerugian yang besar.

Saya sekeluarga memilih untuk menyokong barangan keluaran Malaysia. Panggillah kami ini nasionalis atau pun patriotik tak bertempat tetapi kami cuba sedaya boleh untuk membeli kereta Proton kebanggaan negara. Saya bias dalam pendirian saya apabila bercakap tentang Proton. Ini adalah benar. Namun, saya sendiri mengkritik kualiti kenderaan nasional ini selepas mengalami sendiri kekurangan yang ada. Tetapi, saya saying Malaysia. Saya tidak mahu Proton berkubur dan kerana inilah saya tidak bersetuju dengan kempen populis Turunkan Harga Kereta yang dimainkan oleh ahli politik. Saya juga hanyalah bersikap realis bila menyatakan jika harga kereta import mendapat diskaun 50%, Proton akan susah untuk bersaing. Bayangkanlah dengan waktu sekarang inipun, ramai rakyat memilih kereta keluaran luar negara, sanggup membayar lebih. Jika kempen ini bertujuan mengurangkan harga kereta keluaran tempatan, saya setuju. Ada pula penyokong kempen ini di Twitter tempoh hari menuduh saya memperlekehkan kebolehan Proton. Dia memberi faktor yang tidak relevan seperti Proton sudah ada pusat pemasangan bertaraf global dan mampu berdaya saing. Realitinya, "protectionism" adalah normal bagi mempertahankan industri tanah air dan ini telah diguna pakai oleh negara-negara pengeluar kenderaan seperti Korea.

Jika tidak orang Malaysia, siapa lagi yang akan sokong Proton dan Perodua? Jeremy Clarkson daripada rancangan "Top Gear"?

Tak tahulah jika penyokong Turunkan Harga Kereta ini tidak patriotik. Tetapi itulah pada pendapat saya. Sahabat saya itu sehingga kini tidak dapat menjawab persoalan-persoalan jujur saya di atas. Dia hanya mampu menjawab Proton sudah lama hancur setelah AFTA 2005 dan bangga menyatakan kerajaan Barisan Nasional juga sedang mempertimbangkan kempen ini. Jawapan-jawapan politik yang tidak meyakinkan.

Jadi, adakah PKR mengajar rakyat untuk menjadi tidak berpatriotik? Adakah mereka juga mengajar kita supaya tidak membayar hutang walhal itulah yang dituntut dari segi agama. Betul, agama menolak amalan riba' tetapi nilai pokoknya wajib dibayar. Di mana letaknya nilai etika dan moral? Raihan undikah yang menjadi matlamat utama tidak mengira yang hak dan batil?

I don't know what Abdul Hadi Awang is trying to do. Did he just realise that the Pakatan way would be a more liberal and anti-Malay/Muslim way of living in Malaysia because of the presence of more dominant parties PKR and DAP (difference of ideologies)? Or simply he could smell an opportunity to join the Federal Government the quickest? Or maybe SINCERELY wanting to bring all Muslims in Malaysia together looking at how Muslims are divided in Malaysia? (UMNO-Muslims, UMNO-seculars, PAS-pro muzakarah Muslims, PAS anti-muzakarah, PAS Erdogans, PKR-Muslims, PKR-liberals-seculars, Indian-Muslims... etc). Whatever the reason is, PAS joining UMNO would be cheating. (froggies rule?). PAS joining Barisan Nasional to fight together for the next GE is however, not cheating. I don't really mind if Muslims in Malaysia really want to bond together because that is what Prophet Muhammad PBUH would want, since he detests Qabilah practice (Muslims having various groups) among the Muslims. However, this must only be done without the expense of the Non-Muslims because Prophet Muhammad encourages Muslim leaders to take good care of all citizens regardless of races. I know the Pakatan leaders have held a press conference rejecting a unity government, but, they can always discuss with Barisan Nasional on how to improve Malaysia for the benefits of the people.

I have to agree with Mahathir when he said Tuan Guru is old and grumpy, like him! Although it could be contributed by the way PAS was so-called 'treated' many years ago (1970s when they joined Barisan), he forgot that Islam encourages people to forgive and forget. Depicting UMNO as communists and Sky Kingdom practices is somewhat shallow and of a sweeping statement. Worse, UMNO was once called kaffirs which really left a bad taste on people's perception of PAS, extreme and shouldn't be able to go well with liberals and seculars like DAP. Tuan Guru can accept ex-UMNO people (ie forgiven and forgotten of their past) like Anwar and many others in PKR (literally ex UMNO members and MPs) but not the current UMNO people although they had nothing to do with the 1970s issue. I guess it's because this is politics. He is againts the idea of a unity government, like Husam, because he doesn't want to see PAS under UMNO, worse than what he feels PAS's current position. Well, Nik Aziz is still human... derived from the word Insaan, that would mean Forgetful, in Arabic. On Chin Peng returning to Malaysia...

Man this one is so ridiculous even having to discuss it! Anwar seconded the motion (expectedly), because he simply wants to please people who support Communism/Socialism that made of some part of Pakatan Rakyat (shall I say DAP? SAPP?). I almost choked to death when some Malay guys on Facebook bravely saying how they welcome Chin Peng back home, obviously hardcore fans of Anwar Ibrahim. (monkey see, monkey do!). They even said something like "those people killed by PKM are the slaves of the invaders (English)". Slaves of invaders or slaves of the nation? Nothing against the former DPM, I am saying all this because I don't want to see the decendants of the people getting killed fighting the Communist guerillas being illy-provoked. Well yeah, PKM fought for the country against the Japanese and even the English later to achieve democracy. Well, it's because they wanted to rule Tanah Melayu as well! With their own ideology 'some more'! Who wouldn't jump into that kind of opportunity? Being the new kings? The Malayan and English forces fought them off and the Malaysian government called truce with PKM in the 1980s. Chin Peng, Samsiah Faqih, Razak Mohiedeen.... I don't think they were allowed home because the Government didn't want to spur anger among the fighters who were still living, and their families and friends. Bringing them home would indicate they were forgiven of their brutal insurgency. So, it's a no-no. I think Samsiah died and her body was brought home. I don't think it's a big deal anyway since they are happy to believe in Communism, now that China's current government practices a bit of the Communism anyway so they will be fine. In addition, my great uncle was killed by a PKM member and so was their Chinese neighbour, simply for not co-operating. So over my dead body PKM can be forgiven. On calls for justice for gay people in Malaysia...

Oh please... you are in Malaysia, you live by its rules. You wanna change it, make your own party, win election and debate in the Parliament and see if it's gonna work in a traditional, Muslim-dominated country like Malaysia. Adultery, be it from the 'front' or from 'behind' is a crime in Malaysia. But I know the authority (cops) don't really catch people for adultery (hell yeah spas with prostitutes are everywhere in KL). The JAKIM snoop-cats however, are more interested with Muslims committing adultery. This is somewhat against the real teachings of Islam as Muslims are not allowed to search-and-catch, storm into properties, snoop around people committing sins (mencari-cari kesalahan orang lain adalah dosa besar). However, if by-chance that you are caught committing a crime, you should be punished. If one is committing a crime and a neighbour called the authority, that shouldn't be a problem, Islamically. But again, I am sure there are thousands of gay people in Malaysia (Western-culture-shocked, easily-influenced, emotional people - yeah don't blame God for it), they can live on with their lives as long as they don't get caught. I bet gay guys in Malaysia are mostly Malays. Wanna bet on that? I don't care really as long as you realise one day what you are doing is against any religion, unnatural, unhealthy and you don't establish a recruitment agency to lure others into your dungeon and thats fine really. P/S: I have a senior who is a drag Queen now in KL. Or should I say drag half-Queen?

On not punctual people...

I was really angry having to wait for 42 minutes for a couple of so-called educated, Raja Petra fans friends to treat them from my first pay. That was not the first time and on top of that, I was double booked for their friend from Portsmouth. (obviously if they are reading this, yeah screw them I had enough of being nice to KIDS). If you made a promise, I don't expect you to break it. If you are late, should have called or texted me earlier. I even gave 40 minutes of waiting time but thats probably the limit. In the 42nd minute, I just left for home from Leicester friggin Square. Saved me some bucks as well despite losing some 'friends'. I don't care I just hate being made a waiting toy!

Fact: Thomas Vermaelen is shorter than Toure and Gallas by a centimeter. And we are having problems with the aerial defence at the back! Thank God for that.
